You're delusional. Have you ever had any experience at all, behind the scenes, with sales people? They don't care whether you like or product or whether it helps you or not. Not at all. They solely care about how much you're willing to pay for it. That's all.

 

I don't know if new jobs would be created by this, but new lawsuits certainly would be....

 

Sales people are NOT the people that make the product. Is the person at the Ford dealership going to know if the ford is a better product for you than the toyota? It is the producer of the products that make it good for you, not the salesmen.

 

To add to your post.

Salesmen are there to do one thing. Sell a product to people that aren't responsible or smart enough to do enough research to determine the product that best suites them. This is another case of the people trying to pawn responsibility off to others and that is when you see people screwed over. They get screwed over because they let themselves be. Salesmen just want their commission, so they will try to sell you anything. If you already know what you want, they will be more than obliged to sell it to you. Like you said, they don't know what's best for you but for some reason so many people think they do.
