I've been on a lot of forums that either were dedicated to politics or had a strong political element to them, and on every one of them, it seemed like there were a few voices of reason being drowned out by a flood of leftardism. This place is the first I've been to that doesn't seem to suffer from that same problem. So I was wondering... what's the actual ideological makeup of the PoFo demographic?

Here are some definitions to help:

Authoritarian - most Democrats and Neo-conservatives fall into this category; they might pay lip service to either economic or personal freedom, but in reality, they tend to ignore the kind that they claim to support while fervently chipping away at the other.

Centrist (European right) - I don't know, but my gut says "maybe".

Leftist (European center) - This position is best exemplified by the Green Party. If Ralph Nader and Cynthia McKinney are your heroes, or if you are from Europe, or if you do not have even the slightest understanding of economics, you probably belong here.

Libertarian - Do you sometimes think to yourself "you know, that Ron Paul guy says some pretty crazy (*)(*)(*)(*) sometimes, but he's still a hell of a lot better than these other clowns"? Do you think that government should play a fairly small role in both our daily lives and the economy, and that it's currently creating more problems than it solves? If so, you probably have some libertarian leanings in you.

Rightist (European "WTF are those crazy redneck Americans thinking?") - This position is best exemplified by the Constitution Party, various Fascist/Falangist parties, and certain Muslim theocracies. If your name ends with either "Palin" or "Saud", you're probably in this group. Rick Perry also goes here.

That's why Centrist was defined as "I don't know, but my gut says maybe".

    Anarcho-capitalist, or libertarian anarchist.

I believe there is no redeeming quality in the state and it should be abandoned for the sake of human society.

I am not neither in any of that categories. I am anarchist. And also there won't be place for communists.

I have a great understanding in economics, society and ethics, for that I am anarchist and anticapitalist.

I was with you until you got to this part.....

    .....which is full of fail.

Although I'm guessing from the loaded nature of the question, you're probably a libertarian.

I'm with him. I would not dignify that arrogant, divisive, Americano-centric, poll with an entry.

I will be old enough to vote at the next election, and I am so ****** off with all the political parties, that, in the absence of a 'Standing in the Corner Wearing a Silly Hat' candidate; I will very likely vote for David Sutch's party. It would make as much sense as any other vote.

I am sick of ideological posturing of all political stripes, but find the apparent greed and inhumanity of the Reaganite/Thatcherite Conservative school of thought particularly repugnant.

Trickle-down economics; we mustn't tax the obscenely wealthy too much - poor diddums; I've made my pile so **** the poor and needy - lazy sods to a man! :puke:

The further America drifts towards federal authoritarianism, nanny statism, and outcome based social and economic "justice"

the more militant I become in seeing to its end....with violence, if necessary.

makes me a far right anarchist with a mean streak, I suppose.

I think I'm a European Centrist by this poll. And, I will admit, macroeconomics do confuse the crap out of me. I suspect that they confuse the crap out of all of you and I'm the only one willing to admit it, but the only thing I know for sure is that they do confuse me.

I mean, it would seriously help if the twenty-zillion perspectives on macroeconomics didn't all sounds equally certain of their own expertise. I'm left judging by results ... which are also difficult to judge, considering that whole 'he who writes the history books' thing. The results seem to differ according to the country in which the textbook I'm looking it up in was printed.

    So... libertarian?

    So... centrist?

I don't think that Ghandi ever expressed a political opinion other than "the Brits need to **** of India".

    Leftist. Like, duh.

    So... libertarian?

    How the... what?

Explain your confusion.....or better yet, how would you describe someone who would support, perhaps even participate in the overthrow of an increasingly authoritarian, confiscatory central government?

Certainly not leftist anarchism....as leftism REQUIRES an authoritarian central government to enforce compliance with collectivist ideals.

I'm a left center liberal. My economic principles vary based upon practicality, which makes me more of an economic centrist or independent. However, I'm also a brain trust liberal. My social principles are all liberal, but still pragmatic.
