    thats what freedom is. LOL

    its a subject-citizen franchise.

and for those who do not know that means you can do whatever the state gives you permission to do LOL

Who wants the "freedom" to inherit all that debt and put their children in slavery?

Oh btw I do not consent to YOUR government.

    Now what?

Why are people so gungho about freedom?

    because they are delusional?

It could exist if people wanted to make huge changes in their thinking and government but we have more prisoners in this country alone than the whole world put together. People do not know what true freedom is and the ones who yell the loudest usually support the most freedom zapping government actions.

yeh tell me about free. LOL

I agree 100%. I have good intentions and I want the best for everyone. When and where do I show up for this gig? I can't wait to roll up my sleeves and get to work redesigning the US according to my image of what she should be. I will require 2 things.

    1. An over/under figure for acceptable casualties.

    2. A butt load of guns.

may I ask how old you are?

also, the kind of totalitarian state you advocate is evil.

As with most things, too much of anything isn't good, so while I don't agree with having a totalitarian government, I do not have a problem with a government having more power and control for the common benefit.

That's how it is in America already. Nobody is really free here. A lot of people just believe they are because they don't think about the things they can't do.

Because you're not free. Because you can't act on your own. You must obey an authority and that is not good. You can't think for yourself. Your humanity is eliminated.

    No, thanks.

Freedom is good because I don't like being told what to do.

Good for who? If we had a communistic government, all the communists would be happy, and i have no doubt that they would honestly see themselves as being good and noble. However everyone else would be miserable and feel oppressed.

This is why we have elections, every now and then the population can vent their steam and go from one side to the other in the blink of an eye. The majority wins, and it satisfies the most people everytime. In a perfect world everyone would be happy, but since its not we have to settle for whatever is practical.

Yes, but they have all had descendants who didn't care. The problem is that benevolent dictatorship is not a sustainable model, it will be corrupted within a matter of decades.

My freedom doesn't interfere with your freedom. That's a false logic.

I have been to countries where there was little or no freedom--namely parts of the Eastern Bloc (Bulgaria, Romania, Hungary, Yugoslavia) before their revolutions. I could feel the oppression there. (oppression in the order I listed, from most oppressed (Bulgaria) to the least (Yugoslavia)) There were definite differences between the countries, and Western Europe and the U.S.

Amazing, somehow, in the U.S. the corporations run things, yet the U.S. corporate income tax is higher than most other countries.

Actually, Somalia has hundreds of small rival governments. The problem there is not lack of government.

Freedom comes down to self ownership. There is no good argument for someone else to own you.

Freedom comes fourth on my list of priorities. But all of my priorities are pretty important to me.

They have rival groups and gangs often headed by warlords. Nothing of a representative body governing the state itself. The definition of government in its broadest form allows you to play with it a little. Like I could say parts of different cities all over the world that have gangs have there own governments within governments, but nobody is going to say that. You can word it how you want, but from most professional viewpoints, Somalia is one of the top places in the world in which government is considered all but non existent.
