Thanks my man. My wife died 6 years ago, so I have no family left, but hopefully someone will invite me over (fingers crossed). I am quite thankful tho, that I can still still do what I love (build and restore guitars), and my hands can still do what they did all those years ago. Differences aside, I hope everyone that celebrates this holiday has the best of the best, and for those that don't celebrate, just look at your family and be truly thankful for them, for no other reason than they are your lifeline. Be as good as you can today guys.
Happy Turkey Day to one and all! Turkey something for the next several days with my favorite oyster dressing! Wild turkey is about as good as it gets, glad I resisted temptation to eat it since last spring.
The point of Thanksgiving, at least the first, was to be thankful for the human endeavor that saved the Pilgrims from starvation. They had given up on their original form of society, a socialist communal one, and switch to a "capitalist" where each family owned a plot of land and could profit from it. It was that human endeavor that saved them and what they were thankful for. We could use more of that now.

Happy Thanksgiving! I am thankful for the endless hours of entertainment provided over these last three and one half years by the following paragons of Birther impotence. Phil Berg, Orly Taitz, Leo Donofrio, Mario Apuzzo, Walt Fitzpatrick, Dean Haskins, Donald Trump, Charlie Kerchner, Steve Craig, Pamela Barnett, Teresa Cao, Tracy Fair, Jerome Corsi, Joe Farah... and all the lesser light sin the Birther firmament. Thank you all for you untiring devotion to abject failure. I look forward to your continued consistency over this next Presidential election year... and the subsequent four years of President Obama's second term. And I am thankful for the anti-Birthers who are, with few risks of challenge, the smartest, funniest, snarkiest online community in existence. They have proven to be remarkable patriots, tireless advocates for the Constitution and the law, and great personal friends. WongKimArk - Thanksgiving 2011
Well we have much to be thankful for this Thanksgiving. I know that I do. I have a great job, live with my sweet family in a exciting beautiful city. My 401K has rebounded from the disastrous collapse of Wall Street. We will be enjoying a Thanksgiving meal with good friends in my home town. Osama Bin Ladin is no longer on the run and thumbing his nose at the U.S.. We are on target to be pulled out of Iraq. We didn't lose any troops in Libya. We haven't had a serious terrorist attack in the United States since 9/11. Our country is still a vigorous Democratic Republic, despite all the efforts of Birthers. The Republican's are still sorting out who can be the "other than Romney" candidate, but whoever it will be will be part of the evidence that our electoral system still works. (Even though none of the Republican candidates have or will show any evidence of eligibility). I go into 2012 confident that there will be an election and if Obama loses, an orderly succession. We live in a great country, with great people, and part of our greatness is that even the nuttiest fringe are allowed the freedom of expression to speculate, lie and otherwise spout nonsense, free of government repression. Of course, I am allowed to express my opinions about your opinions also- which is what makes it fun. Happy Thanksgiving everyone.
happy thanksgiving everyone..... hope you all have a great day today regardless of your beliefs... thinking of the holiday in particular what you all thankful for?
Not exactly the latest news, but happy thanksgiving! I'm thankful for all the kind thoughts and deeds the individual has to offer.
I would like to wish ALL the PF members, friends and foes, a very Happy Thanksgiving. Enjoy your time with your families......yes even annoying Uncle Fred. I think we all know someone that will be alone tomorrow. Please open your hearts and homes to just one friend, it will mean the world to them. There will be tons of leftovers, if you know a family in need please put together a "care" package for them they will appreciate the food more than you'll ever know. Happy Thanksgiving all and don't forget to take stock of your lives and give thanks for what you have. Be kind to each other folks, we're all in this world together.
Happy Thanksgiving to one and all. Me, home with two of the kids, adult kids, and their families, one still in Marines at Quantico. Frying two turkeys, cover with cyanne pepper and fry them babies up. No need to inject they taste just fine especially smother in the gravey I am making from the giblets. Smelling up the house now as I boil them. Of course my signature stuffing made with Jimmy Dean sausage. Have to have the perennial green bean casarole, some mashed potatoes rolls and what every everyone else brings! And of course lots to drink beer, wine and a whisky punch my son is bringing.
Well... this year was ThanksBirthGivingDay. It happens every 7 years or so, where our nation gathers together their loved ones, and tolerated ones, and join hands and give thanks for the day I was brought into this world. Joy, good food, the laughter of children, and a seemingly unending appreciation for my magnificent contribution to this Earth, and our country in particular. I am reminded at this time of the warmth people feel just knowing I am out there, being brilliant, funny, talented... and modest. Yes I think it is my humility which makes me such an overall well rounded human being, and role model to all. I just wanted to tell you, and your families... You're welcome. Was a good day.
