Heres a tip, if you can design a (*)(*)(*)(*)ing drone that is so perfect it can even have room for an internal explosive powerful enough to completely obliterate itself in the event of malfunction go (*)(*)(*)(*)ing apply to the pentagon and quit (*)(*)(*)(*)(*)ing on the internet.

I know the international community wouldn't back that. The international community rarely ever backs anything the US does. If we are still spying on them and this was all a huge ploy then I'll be doing backflips if that ever goes public. Or if they did infect them with a virus. I'm just trying to be optimistic, I HATE the fact that Iran has one of our drones.

Self destruct capabilities aren't science fiction. We actually have weapons systems that can do that for exact reasons such as this...I don't know if this drone is one of them, but the technology exists.
I'm trying to be optimistic too. I hate it too. If we didn't intentionally lose this drone, then I'm confident they'll pay for it in blood, one way or another.
yeah that's why I was smiling when I heard about Irans facilities blowing up and their scientists mysteriously dying. I am just hoping that this is some sort of CIA spy operation going on that we don't know about. I just cringe at the thought of us losing this thing and sitting around here doing nothing at all about it.
People working at the Pentagon do not design these drones. They are built by Lockheed Martin who is able to pay their people more than people in government positions get. They would have built the drone to meet the requirements of the contract and if that included having a self destruct they would have designed it to incorporate this. I'm guessing the military didn't ask for it and didn't consider it worth any trade off in safety, operational radius, unit cost ect. rather than it being an engineering impossibility.
You are correct up to a point. We don't know how it was designed but we do know that if all else fails it should never end up in the hands of the enemy. Obama has been very careless and it has cost our country billions of dollars and perhaps the lives of many Americans by helping the Chicoms and Russians to catch up to us in stealth technology. Obama owes the American people an apology.
Exactly right. You cannot blame the designers or the military for this as the left are trying to with their "it should have had a self destruct" nonsense because the lack of an easy solution is no excuse for not finding a solution. Obama is completely responsible for allowing this technology to fall into Iranian hands. Not only does he owe America an apology but also Israel and anyone else Iran may use this technology against.
I agree with anyone who says the plane should have had a foolproof self-destruct system. And it was Obama's responsibility as commander in chief to make sure it had that.
I think the point here is not whether or not he acknowledged it but that his administration is fighting secret wars all over the globe using the CIA with no judicial or legislative checks and it was only a matter of time before we have another colossal screw-up like the bay of pigs that puts us all in danger. Obama invaded hostile airspace and admitted it, which puts us on a dangerous path to an all out war with Iran and it's allies
The president has handled this situation really bad. There is a lot of discontent within the pentagon by his actions.
