What do you think Iran would do if they had a nuclear bomb?

Iran isn't going to launch any nuclear strikes against any other nation.
Saying otherwise is just delusional and ignorant, coming from someone who doesn't read anything or know anything and only listens to news pundits say "Iran will attack America and Israel if they get the bomb."

 

They wouldn't do anything with it.

Instead, they would open up more to trade and wouldn't be bullied around by every nation like they are now. They would grow as a nation and become more stable.

You watch too much television. Iran is one of the oldest civilizations in the world. They're not going to commit national and ethnic suicide to nuke one Israeli city.

I agree with that assessment. Iran doesn't care about image or idle threats. They had no problem violating the sanctity of international law and seizing the US embassy. Nor have they ever shied away from the clearly stated intent of destroying Israel.

The only thing they fear is strength; they laughed at Jimmy Carter and handed over the US hostages the day Reagan was sworn in. Why? Because he convinced them he would nuke 'em.

Barak Chamberlain Owebama is not going to deter them. Appeasement is not the way to go. As Teddy Roosevelt said "speak softly and carry a big stick."

 

All of these people are such experts on Iran from watching Fox News. They should start giving diplomas to their viewers.

 

1. They would use it and be wiped off the face of the earth

2. They would use it as a self-defense mechanism to deter NATO/US from bringing about regime change whenever they feel like it.

2 is the likely scenario. It is also widely accepted that he was not referring to Israel but the Israeli regime. You know, like US/NATO talks about taking out regimes and actually follows through on the threat?

The better question is what would China and Russia do if Iran is attacked and do you think bombing Iran based on them allegedly being "close to developing a nuke (we've heard that before)" is worth WWIII?

 

Most likely nothing. If America keeps up its crusade of democracy they may and I stress MAY give it to a terrorist organization to strike out at the US and destroy a city like NYC or DC. People who are saying the destruction of these cities would cause absolute chaos are wrong and right at the same time. Yes, are life would be shaken but the fury we would unleash would be greater then are hurt little paws pain. We would isolate the country the nuclear bomb came from. Which would not be hard because we would automatically assume Iran and then we would launch a full scale invasion of that country without nukes because we would not need them. The UN could say nothing because Iran attacked us with a nuclear bomb.

If they have any sense, they’ll wonder if it will work.

Why do you suppose the US, USSR, Chinese, British & French spent so much money and effort testing nuclear weapons? Simple. Nobody trusted them to work. Why would they not be trusted? Duds and fizzles. One wonders how many duds/fizzles everybody had. No doubt a closely held national secret for all involved.

Pakistan and NorK tested nukes and from anybody can tell they were fizzles. They went off but had poor output.

Considering the usual state of Iranian engineering excellence, if they had enough fissile material for a bomb, mist likely it will be more of a ‘dirty bomb’ than a real nuclear weapon.

I'm having trouble finishing this analogy. Anyway, they'd either nuke Israel or they'd just threaten to use it all the time. Either way it's a bad idea putting a nuke in a crazy nut's fingers. Although nukes are still a bad thing, I have to give credit to the current nuke-holding countries for being very responsible with them. Even during the Cold War not a single bomb was launched. We must be able to trust a country with a nuke, and we can't trust Iran.

Nuclear weapons only yield 10 to 20% efficiency. The rest of the plutonium is blown away from the fission event as super hot plasma creating the radioactive cloud.

It only takes a small misalignment to cause a fizzle, but the high order explosion would spread a lot of radioactive material all over down town NYC.

The fact that we have the "Rods from God" in orbit makes me feel a little better.
