    Lol...

How big of a dumbass do you have to be? Does this mean that he will lose all his benefits...oh no, that's right, such policies are only enacted against people that you don't like.

    .....

/“I observed the odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from Mr. Smith’s breath,” Kramer said in his report. “He advised me he was a state representative and gave the name ‘Kip Smith.’” Smith, whose given name is John Andrew Smith, first told the officer he had not consumed any alcoholic beverages./

If it lies it has got to be a republican...lol

btw...the pic of Kip looks really metrosexual in my estimation....

Does he provide some sort of service for the compensation that went to pay for the alcohol, or was it paid for with benefits meant to merely sustain a person's existence until they regained the ability to provide for themselves the basic necessities? I am not totally in favor of drug testing for welfare, but I don't really see the connection in this story.

Good, I hope he is prosecuted like any other drunk. As far as the correlation between someone who works for government and others who get free government benefits for doing nothing, kinda thin there.

    Nice try, though. At

Yeah, exactly what I was thinking. No connection b/w the 2.

Just another non-thinking thread that is nothing more then partisan bull(*)(*)(*)(*).

The connection isn't his pay the connection is the hypocrisy of a drunk trying to tell others how they can or can't get their buzz on.

What a baby face he has -- well, for 29 year old, anyway.

I love all this tit for tat crap. What difference does it make what party he (or a shoplifting Congresswoman from SF) belong to? I'm not like the socialists here who think they have to come defend criminal behavior by someone in my party.

Once again, he broke the law, just like she did. Punish him and be done with it.

Exactly. Like there aren't hypocrites on both sides of the aisle.

Ever hear that story about Teddy, Chris Dodd and the sandwiching a waitress?

Ah, red herrings completely unrelated to the thread or topic at hand.

Was Ted Kennedy in support of drug testing for welfare recipients?

Yes, I have heard that story. Like we've both basically said here already, prosecute this like any other crime. Well, if anything, make an example out of him since he's a *public servant* (what a laughable term that has become, as it's been the public serving the *servants* for a while now).

What's wrong with supporting drug testing for welfare recipients? Sorry, I don't quite buy the hypocrisy charge you're trying to drum up.

The guy's a drunk. Fine. Prosecute him like any other drunk. But people on welfare should certainly not have the same freedoms when they're living off the public's dime without giving something in return- i.e. WORK. I'm fine with drug testing these losers to make sure we're not merely feeding drug habits.

    Nice try, though.

While this is personally embarrassing for the lawmaker it goes no farther than him.

The law is bigger than any single person.

This same law in Florida proved to be an expensive embarrassment.

The idea of someone abusing an intoxicant who is trying to regulate others that may or may not be abusing intoxicants is hilarious.

I doubt there's a person on this planet who hasn't told a lie.
BTW, here's a liar for you to observe:

    [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UErR7i2onW0"]7 Lies In Under 2 Minutes - YouTube[/ame]

People should be careful who they call liars. Something like ^ this might be the response.

Turns out liberals are not tolerant, as they claim. They're only tolerant of what suits them. And on top of that, they love to point the hypocrisy finger at others. WOW.
    Go figure.

Illegal drugs and on welfare are not the same thing.
Should he be drinking and driving absolutely not! I do feel that those on welfare should be tested for drugs. Sorry but that is how I feel.

Why should people on public assistance not have the same freedoms as everyone else? Are you aware that many people that work also recieve public assistance?

There are many people that work and get drug tested as a condition of employment so why shouldnt people that recieve taxpayer money for doing nothing be exempt?

The fact that employers drug test employees does not make a case to justify drug testing welfare recipients. It is a violation of the constitutional right to privacy. Why don't we require a search of every welfare recipient's homes to ensure they don't have illegal fite arms?

well. that's bad that a person with responsibility is arrested for DUI. But then Corzine had his little accident and he wasn't buckled up. That's illegal. I would like to see all public servants down to the lowliest, drug tested for employment and then regularly after that. Boy wouldn't that shake them up.

Still. REGARDLESS, people on the public dole, including public 'servants' should be tested for drugs and required to get have a job.

This would be beneficial to all of us as taxpayers.
