    • The Republican party in Texas is drawing Hispanic voters disillusioned by the Democratic party’s extreme values, two Hispanic Republican female leaders with Democratic backgrounds told the Daily Caller News Foundation.
    • “I am starting to see this need to connect with the Hispanic community and let them know nationwide that it’s the Republican party that offers opportunities,” Adrienne Pena-Garza, chair of the Hidalgo County Republican Party, told the DCNF.
    • “The Hispanic culture really aligns with pro-life, pro God, and pro country,” Republican Texas candidate Monica De La Cruz-Hernandez said. “Those are the values of the Republican party. Democrats have just simply gone too far to the left and towards socialism.”
The Republican party in Texas is drawing Hispanic voters disillusioned by the Democratic party’s extreme values, two female Hispanic Republican leaders with Democratic backgrounds told the Daily Caller News Foundation.

South Texas saw both a liberal decline and a conservative surge during the 2020 election, the New York Times reported, a surge that has emboldened Republicans hoping to win in Latino communities throughout the United States. Hispanic female Republicans are stepping up to the plate, the publication reported...

This Daily Caller News Foundation article is interesting. It tracks the demographic changes in Texas among Hispanic voters there. Among Hispanics living in the southern part of the state near the border the shift from 2016 to 2020 is quite remarkable.

The GOP has always had more Hispanics in office of state position than Democrats....How is this new?

The GOP inroads into the Hispanic community are starting to be felt. The cultural ties of working class, personal responsibility, small business, religion, and pro life of the GOP and the Hispanic community have been there for some time. Trump and GOP leaders in Florida and Texas made the connection and it’s only going to grow.

And yet his support among Hispanic voters grew a lot between 2016 and 2020.

Yeah, many folks seem to like to be humiliated to feel significant like Ted Cruz after Trump told him he had an ugly wife and he agreed.

Texas went for the Republican candidate by 22.9 pts in 2004, 11.8 pts in 2008, 15.8 pts in 2012, 9 pts in 2016 and a lowly 5.6 pts in 2020

If that trend continues the state will be in play by 2024 and purple by 2028, likely blue from that point.
If you take all safe blue states and add Texas it brings the EC tally to 249 (270 are required to win) — and that is only if Democrats don’t grow a backbone and pass the Wyoming Rule

I think we can agree that if Texas were to become a battleground state any time soon, no Republican could aspire to the Presidency.

The demographic changes among the states Hispanics may well blunt that trend.

That's why Republicans have been sneaking Mexicans across the border for years - they want their votes.

    Except illegal immigrants cannot vote...

Or are you now hoping they do, as long as they vote for your team?

No I don’t think they should. I just find it hilarious that the liberals don’t realize that the Hispanics from Central and South America would be what we would consider on the political far right of the spectrum in regards to social issues.

The liberals think they can buy them with free stuff. And in the short term they can. But the Hispanics have heard all of that before from the socialists in their countries. What they consistently cling to over the long run is god, guns and country.

Which sounds a lot like the rednecks I know.

Liberals want a path to citizenship, correct.

They also want everyone in the US — including those rednecks people that hate liberals — to have the same rights and benefits that the citizens of other nations enjoy like healthcare, child care, family leave, education... Conservatives operate on harming people they dislike while liberals want the same benefits for everyone.

I have never heard Mexico was socialist, can you list a few examples? Central America? Do you mean Nicaragua and Venezuela because they make up a very small percentage of illegal immigration...

I also find it strange you say they cling to country while they are literally abandoning theirs, and god and guns are an interesting combination to say the least.

Sounds to me like you’re projecting. We don’t let in Latino refugees because of their perceived politics. We do it because it’s the right thing to do.

evangicals have always been republican... it's hard for them to support other right to choose for themselves

    she is "pro-life, pro God"

that is why she is a Republican, the left supports her right to choose, for her body and her religion, she wants to force her beliefs on others.... thus she is a Republican

I lived in a beautiful rural western state for fourteen years. The most prominent gripe locals had was that out-of-staters moved there because of the way it was. Then the first thing they do is try to make it like their home state.

Yes, Trump indeed was “in your face” politician; how refreshing it was seeing Trump driving Democrats up the wall! :D

    LoL.

In a thread about voting you post a quote about illegal immigration.

That couldn't possibly be more irrelevant.

The quotation is 100% correct. Thank you for another reminder of how right President Trump was.

If Pelosi thought that they would vote for us, she’d fund a wall a mile high across the entire border.

I thought you retired your psychic hat after it always turned out wrong?

Here, let me try — if Republicans thought they would benefit by allowing illegals to vote our elections would look like those in Utah instead of every restrictive measure y’all could throw at it
