‘We’re Going Back To The Capitol’: Ex Trump Campaign Official Announces ‘Huge’ Protest

Gee, last time the Democratic Party wasn't interested in national security. What changed? Is it that they currently hold office? But that's distressing because it means the only time the DP is halfway concerned about our national security is if they hold the reins of political control. Even as a minority party, they should have asserted the protection of US Citizens over political considerations.

 

I have no clue at all what you are talking about. That picture was from last summer when BLM came to DC, that is what Trump did to protect buildings from them. Contrast that to how the Capital Building was defended on Jan 6th. As far as I know the Dems had no control over either event since as you note they held no power.

Well back then, Democrats made a big protest about protecting said buildings, including watching a city burn(Portland.) It was this inaction, combined with 'resisting Trump' that was the top priority for local and national democrats during the intense summer months of 2020. So if a similar need arises, the Democrats will now care about the safety of the people and its government? What a farce.

 

Probably because the pro Trumpers have never looted, lit fires to police cars, lit fires to businesses. Still haven’t either.

 

It's more likely because of historical revisionism. If you go back to posts around the time of the Capitol riot you will see many Trump defenders try to whitewash what happened. Some even claim none of the people there were Trump supporters (going as far as saying that BLM and Antifa did it while pretending to be).

You will see the same pattern when you read the posts regarding the shooting death of Ashli Babbitt and compare them to the ones about Breonna Taylor and other non-white people who've been shot and killed by LEOs. It's all really just a good ol' double-standard.

I think there is nothing intelligent about political protests. They are purely emotional. They accomplish nothing and make people angry. The only solution to political problems for citizens is the ballot box. Good to see you concerned about law enforcement officers, though. There isn't enough of that on the left.

If you think the FBI doesn't do all of the above, they do. If the FBI did their job, there would be no "Homeland Security" and "TSA" today.

Yesterday I was listening to the Mark Levin show on Sirius and he had Louie Gohmert on. They spent the entire hour talking about how EVERYONE who was arrested and did anything bad on Jan6th, were democratic plants. How Trump NEVER said that anyone should come to the capitol, and how the capitol police leadership was to blame for everything, and that the officers that were killed were "heros", but that all the other officers were plants for the DNC. It was amazing to listen to until a guy called in and they took the call and he said "so can you explain all those that were arrested and that claimed that they did it because Republican talking heads and leadership told them the election was stolen".... and they literally hung up on the guy and moved on......then they went on to Ashely Babbit and how "two guys opened the window and shoved her thru....and that the officer who shot her was waiting for her, and that it all was a setup by the democratic leadership to have her killed".....

It was just an amazing to listen to that. It was soooooooooooo laughable.

 

The speeches at the Ellipse rally "pumped up the crowd," which was apparently coordinated with the radial right groups in the crowd and/or already at the Capitol (Oath Keepers, Proud Boys, et al). Those groups, whose members were dressed in tactical combat gear and armed with bear spray, tasers, flag poles, pieces of broken barriers, etc., led the assault on the building itself, using the the relatively more peaceful demonstrators as cover for the break-in. The first break-in occurred at 2:15 PM. Babbitt was shot and killed at 3:07 PM. The President was informed of the break-in almost immediately upon its occurrence. We know that from telephone calls he made to both Senate and House members. Had he acted immediately and demanded his followers leave the building, it is probable Babbitt and the others would have complied and left the building, BEFORE the break-in to the Speaker's Lobby, where she was shot. The question for the former President is why he avoided asking his supporters to leave the building for two hours and whether or not he was part of a plot to break into the Capitol to disrupt the electoral count?

 

States run their own elections and have their own commissions. Made up of both parties.
They will determine what kind of IDs are required to vote.

Since there's about 0,000004% fraud in elections, they are really secure already.

STOP politicizing the deaths of these officers. There is not a SHRED of evidence connecting their deaths to Jan. 6. It is disgraceful to use their tragic deaths in this manner.
