In case you thought that the Trump administration values your life:

    https://www.politico.com/news/2020/12/16/trump-appointee-demanded-herd-immunity-strategy-446408

"Infants, kids, teens, young people, young adults, middle aged with no conditions etc. have zero to little risk….so we use them to develop herd…we want them infected…" -- from a memo by Paul Alexander to Michael Caputo, his boss and Trump's appointee.

There are links in the article to the emails involved. Read them before dismissing this or trying to spin it. You can't. This was the Trump administration's respinse yo this deadly virus from the get-go ... play it down, hope for herd immunity sooner rather than later, regardless of how many die needlessly, and all in order yo get the economic numbers up so Trump would get re-elected.

"Infants, kids, teens, young people, young adults, middle aged with no conditions etc. have zero to little risk….so we use them to develop herd…we want them infected…"

Of course, they are trying to deny:

"In a statement, an HHS spokesperson said that Alexander’s demands for herd immunity “absolutely did not” shape department strategy.

“Dr. Paul Alexander previously served as a temporary Senior Policy Advisor to the Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs and is no longer employed at the Department,” the spokesperson said."

But please tell me how you spin this:

"So the bottom line is if it is more infectiouness [sic] now, the issue is who cares?" Alexander wrote in a July 3 email to the health department's top communications officials. "If it is causing more cases in young, my word is who cares…as long as we make sensible decisions, and protect the elderely [sic] and nursing homes, we must go on with life….who cares if we test more and get more positive tests."

    I care. Do you?

Who thinks that any POTUS values life?

    I don't.

POTUS is concerned with keeping us in a state of permanent war and good profits for the military and medical industrial profits. War is not about saving lives, it is about taking lives.

Fields was right that a sucker is born every minute. That includes suckers who believe the many untrue official narratives, even the narrative that POTUS values life.

I have a question for you, do you think some of the things Alexander was saying could count as a form of ethnic cleansing.

You forgot to add keeping up the ridiculous narratives so people are in a constant state of anxiety about others (ie. race, religion, sexuality, financial, etc.).

The posting I commented on wasn't about Alexander it was about 'any' president.

Just a teensy fyi: "There's a sucker born every minute" is attributed to P. T. Barnum. W. C. Fields said "You can't cheat an honest man."

    Hmmmm ...

This thread was started a day ago. So far, not one single attempt by a Trump supporter to defend this.

    Interesting.

Perhaps because people are knee-deep on Page 8 of a thread about the exact same topic which was started on Wednesday. Just a guess.

If you're going to accuse someone of genocide, you should provide proof, or at least describe why you think it could be so. Don't just hang an accusation out there, dangling like bait.

There was nothing in any of the articles, or in the exchange of emails, to indicate that Alexander or anyone else in the Trump administration had anything like that in mind. Isn't it bad enough that they cared nothing for any of our lives? That they were willing for tens of thousands of us to get sick, even to die, for the sake of the economy? I see no reason to make it a race issue.

    Thank you.

I searched before I posted this thread, but I guess I missed it.
