Why did Trump think it was necessary to leave the White House with such top secret information? Given he never does anything without a purpose, a means to an end, what was his thinking here?

It's getting closer and closer to election day and Democrats aren't polling as well as hoped so it's necessary to leak new information or, at a minimum, make up some stuff that sounds like a leak and print that.

 

Money and power, no specific order. The means of use to achieve the desired goal are much more variable.

 

It's probably unbelievable for some, but I think it was mostly so he could pretend like he is still president, have visitors see him at his desk with some kind of presidential seal and having important top secret documents. Basically to show off.
This goes to the fundamental of why I don't think Trump should ever be president again, he will put his whims ahead of everything else, including his country. For him, it's not America first, it's Trump first, everytime.
The only reason he says he puts America first is to garner attention, votes or money, but it's all bs.

please explain to me why this is a big deal. The only people leaking and sharing info is the FBI and the media. Besides, I’m sure both China and Iran know what they’re doing and don’t need Trump to tell them.

Now, I am really curious to know exactly what those documents had to say? I suggest they be reproduced for the public so Trump's fan-club can be sure they were really secret stuff and not some newspaper clippings Unless the documents are fully released for public scrutiny, I say this must be a witch-hunt!

I would say Trump ending up being charged for taking with him classified documents on Iran would be poetic justice. The likely slap on the wrist he will receive won't be punishment to fit his crime, but in some ways it would still be reminiscent of Saddam receiving his due by the same US government that had enabled him to commit many of his crimes against Iran in the first place.

The media and the DNC lied for years about Trump and ripped a part cities a and monuments in a childish fit of rage because they lost an election and they could no longr instutute their fascist agendas. We'll never know for sure, but my guess is that he was selling, or planning to sell, our national secrets, probably to his buddy, Putin. He may have already done so. Trump has proven over and over that he'll sell out anyone for money.

 

The only reason Trump supporters keep trashing the FBI is because the facts just are not on their side. The FBI may not be perfect, but there is no vast conspiracy or massive corruption on the scale needed for this to be a hoax.

 

So what??? Where is it written that an ex-president cannot possess classified documents? More importantly how do you and the report know this information? Someone in the DOJ violating the Espionage Act and leaking it?

The last poll I saw, on TV last night, showed an overall difference of 0.9%. It may be much closer than you think, thanks in large part to the SCOTUS. The biggest group of new voter registrations are women under 30.

 

That's a good point. His emotional development seems to have stopped at around age three, and feeling important is a strong motivator for him. However, I think it was about money. He may well have already sold secrets, sent copies of these classified documents to thugs like Putin. Some of our foreign assets may already be compromised, even dead, because of Trump. Consequences have hever held any meaning for him.

There are much bigger issues in the country to worry about than the narcissistic con-man that the moronic democrats are helping to get re-elected in 2024

 

Democrats are polling way better than was hoped — it has gone from a clean sweep in both chambers to Republicans likely only getting one. All trump would have had to do is return the stolen documents and this would have never happened.

I do wonder where the outrage was when team trump sat on “hunters laptop” till the election in attempts to sway that one.
