When the powers that be get China - the world's biggest emitter - to significant progress I'd say maybe we could get more involved, but the fact is we've ALREADY made significant progress. Our progress is actually greater than required by the Paris Agreement (if we'd stayed in). I heard China is already backing down on its commitments which were penny ante at best. Both China and India are building coal power plants.

Again, go for it if you want. IMHO the UN IPCC is a terrible conflation of climate science and global politics. I find the NIPCC much more science and far less One World Government influenced.

 

Small little problem: The US consumes 5 times more energy per year than there is available energy in annual US wood biomass growth. Maybe do some research first before you come up with silly deflections.

With that said, I am for biofuels, except for corn ethanol, which has an EROI of 2, so it is REALLY inefficient.

Sorry, in the time frame scientists say we have it is impossible to curb emissions to levels that will “save” the planet. Even most lefties here agree the solution isn’t actually a solution it’s just slowing down of the planets death.

It is an asinine assumption that one can just have all nations "get off" fossil fuels over night. It's not going to happen. It won't happen in a year. It won't happen in 5 years. These nations need oil. Now. Their only folley was to trust Russia by depending on their oil.

 

I'm totally okay if New York City wants to try passing a law banning all fossil fuels from being sold.

Wait, isn't this bs though? Oil supplies are being held down by oil producers not wanting the oil prices to go down from a glut in the market, and so they are not drilling even as much as they are allowed to. Has nothing to do with Biden. And then there's Ukraine.
