So if 72 of those rapes were comitted by them, that is 1 in 1250. That is pretty much the same average as American men. Also consider that this is comparing one city area to the average of the US. So the lesson here is not that non-western immigrants commit more rapes, but that Norwegians commit unusually few. Which seem to jibe with the general crime level in Norway.

On the subject of Sweden, it is worth noting that they've had a long cpampaign of "no rape left unreported" and that in domestic and forced marriage cases they register every case of sex as a separate incident. Which bloats numbers when compared to other countries.

It's not. What the article is saying is that the current rate is 53 out of 100,000. The 1 in 4 statistic is the chance of a woman being raped over the course of her lifetime.
