I have a Mason Jar fetish, from oil lamps to packing my salads and lunch into them or making a nail and screw organizer. Also great for pouring your favorite cold Tea into with some vodka and fruit for New Years night celebrations. If you have any other ideas please post.

Here are the oil lamp heads that fit on your mason jars you can purchase on the cheap from Oillampman:

I just tossed a couple dozen Mason jars of canned stuffed that was getting too old. Makes me think of the things I could have done with them.

I have gotten away from plastic food containers and went to by way of mason jars, even my water bottles, coffee cups are now mason jars. Amazing how simple life is not looking for a lid to match your tupperware.

Plastics are definitely not the best things for stuff you will be consuming. I use a lot of glass containers or ceramics, but it is hard to completely deplasticify ones life as your lids show :)

Dear god, that is quite literally one of the best ideas ever.

Especially the bit about storage, I was looking at a linen closet packed full of tools thinking, "man... I wish I had some cans or something..."
