I've been thinking on this and it still doesn't make sense to me. Typically, there is some kind of plan in place when people set out on agenda.

This makes me wonder...

If these kids were just fleeing the facility, why would there be a need to shoot at law enforcement?
Did they have some prior contact with home owner and/or his kids to know there were unsecured weapons in that property?
How did they happen to break into a property that had unsecured weapons?
Where did they plan to go upon fleeing? It's seems counterintuitive to stay in the same area.
What was the purpose of the stand-off (what was the goal in shooting at cops)?
Did the girl think she could outshoot police officers or was she attempting suicide by cop?


I understand they are kids and probably didn't plan too well but the whole thing just feels bizarre to me.

 

People were most likely to have a handgun, rifle and/or shotgun. So I assume that's to what the amendment refers....at the least.

 

What, like a flintlock? Because there is an awful lot of difference between a flintlock and a Glock. Modern handguns are semi-automatic killing machines.

Mass shootings and gun fights with law enforcement were impossible when that amendment was written. It was an entirely different generation of weapons. This is why the 2A is misinterpreted in modern times with deadly consequences. Those who enacted that amendment would have been appalled at how it is being applied today, guaranteed. They would be horrified at the number of deaths resulting from modern weapons in the hands of civilians.

 

That's a false equivalent as the driveway is not secured as a part of the facility. The point is that we cannot change what happens to children and it certainly is not my responsibility to stop them from acting up. The girl is clinging to life because of her own actions, threatening to kill a police officer usually ends in death for a good reason.

Arms are weapons (rifles, shotguns, pistols) ordinance is explosives.

there is police cam on this link, the cops really did go the extra mile on trying to deescalate this situation, they should be commended for that, as they did not have to do so in this case
