The 16th amendment degraded private property into personal property. The 16th amendment criminalizes any attempt to keep personal property private. Of course, on Feb. 3, 1916 these implications were to a very great extent merely theoretical. The idea that the government could govern economic interactions on a society wide scale was absolutely unimaginable. Today it's not so far fetched. It seems to me that the last item of personal property I posses that still qualifies as private property is my body. I don't want don't want my "privates" degraded into my "personals".
