So we got the news the other day. Our little broodling still within my wife has an umbilical cord with only 2 vessels instead of the usual 3. Apparently they are at an increased risk for a number of things like down syndrome and such, as well as organ development. Just curious if anybody has any experience with this or knows the topic in depth. What should I as a husband and father expect from this? What precautions should we be taking?
I suppose your wife could just get an abortion to be on the safe side. Most of the time, though, the baby will still turn out to be perfectly normal.
Blech... Well that is comforting. From the reading I have done, all it does is increase risk, it isn't a guarantee that the sky is falling. So, we'll just hope and pray for the best.
