You could say that, but that ain't what happened. Just listen to the Republicans. They'll tell you.

I believe we are finally feeling the broad effects of the information age on the populist. Everyone has more access, on demand, to a huge wealth of information than ever before. "Trust but verify" has become a reality for more and more. It’s harder for group thinkers to push a narrative upon the masses when the drones themselves are a Google search away from the learning “truth”. Times are a changing….

We could probably argue this for a weekend around three to six pitchers of pilsner, but I tend to think that while there is a whole lot more information out there, there is substantially less reality.

Neither as I am not confined by your binary choice. The RNC does not get to pick the DNC nod, and the DNC does not get to pick the RNC nod, thus cross party questions are moot in primary debates. Primaries are about preaching to the choir, the general election is about preaching the masses.

I think “knowing is half of the battle”. The more information that is available, the more likely the “truth” is in there somewhere. In the old days, the “truth” could be completely hidden and not available to know. The “truth” has a certain “ring” to it, and the more “truth” you hear, the closer to reality you get.

I suppose, if you have time to sort through it all. If I was a propagandist these days, I think I'd tend to put out too much information (all shaded somewhat) rather than too little. I think if we are being 'controlled', that's how they are doing it.
