20-something programmers up with an obamacare site in few days

This is sad. We spend all that money, and we have three young men who come up with a site that works and gives people the prices they want upront.

The Obama admin is a complete failure.

 

No liberals want to talk about this? Lets hire these kids...

 

The site was meant to be confusing and confuse people. The LAST thing they wanted to was to let people know up front that they were going to get raped. It was by design as is everything else this shady admin is up to.

Since there is NO way these flakes have access to the IRS databases, hundreds of insurance company databases, and all the other massive of coordination of data sources and support that had to be done to accomplish Healthcare.gov, and remember each of the 36 states and even individual countries involved has different health care plans and insurance companies involved, this "website" these blowhard whackjobs have "created" is nothing but a pretty picture. What more could a Fox News Fan want?

Of course, that is ALL the Righties want to accomplish - a "pretty picture" - while they loot and destroy the wealth of our nation for their own profit, and keep the sick and old and poor in the gutter where those "worthless people" belong.

 

While this site hasn't been put through the tests that Obamacare was apparently not tested with either, who knows how it would perform.... although I'm sure it would handle more than 6 enrollments on day one

But... it shows you that there are people willing to give the government something it needs... that doesn't cost hundreds of millions of dollars... if only it would have put this up for bid, and not cared more about cronyism than success.

The administration is as big a failure as the web site they overpaid for.

The job to create Obamacare site went to Michelle's classmate... what does it tell you? Me, it says it was a corruption job of yet unheard proportions. Hope, people will start wondering soon, where all these money really went to. Michelle's retirement fund?

Well, it's nice of them to provide the information before the sign up, it's a nice attempt, but unfortunately they can't do the leg work of a large bureaucracy.

I tried it. But they don't have anything available for my state: New York.

A LARGE BUREAUCRACY can't do the leg work of a large bureaucracy. They can't even do the work of a busted out and bankrupt part of private industry. No, they have invented new levels of organizational FAIL.

Originally the Obamacare site was going to just provide benefit and cost information. At the last minute, the government officials in charge of the web site changed the plan and ordered the contractors to have applicants set up and account first before they could shop for an insurance policy. I believe this was done so the WH administration could claim those accounts as people who had signed up for insurance. But most people were just interested in comparing their plan to an Obamacare plan.

 

Yes recently the bureaucracy has been a total disaster. I'm not disillusioned with bureaucracy, though.

I think a bureaucracy is only as good as the information that pours into it. I think our politicians have recently been trying to kick against the bricks, as it were, by trying to grandstand, be hip, and change things. That's not how a bureaucracy works.

Enough of this hope and change crap. I would totally vote for an old school bureaucrat, no matter how sleazy, as long as they promise to keep up with the paperwork.

Big Fed suffers from poor incentives. All government is in the same boat. All the motives are wrong for a good result for the client. I have no clear solution but I'm 100% sure that smaller is better. The less they can foul up, the smaller the loss.

That is because the Obamacare portal does not handle NY. It dumps it into the state's own exchange... which works.

You don't seem to understand... only 14 states have their own exchanges set up... those parts work... this site addresses the FEDERAL exchange... and theirs works. ALL the website does, is dump you into the STATE exchange, which is where all the numbers are coming from. I don't think you guys get, they built... ground up... for free... in a few days... a working version of the broken system, outside of what they cannot (legally) access (ie IRS). However they can access the insurance companies. Anyone can. They built a portal to automate push through.

The decision to not let you shop was intentional.

#1 They wanted the data up front.

#2 They dont want anyone to know how much of a subsidy they are getting.

If you are just allowed to shop you can change your income to a high amount and see how much of a subsidy you are getting.

 

If the goal was to steer folks to the Obama Care Navigators so they can register Democrats and tell folks to lie when signing up, then it's a secret success.
