It allows the president to stop border entries, something that he currently cannot legally do

It is illegal to enter the country by any means other than authorized ports of entry and processes. That is the law.
You are saying- Biden has bypassed the law, but has no power to enforce the law... as in,

    "I would if I could, but I can't cause I won't..."

Biden can put a stop to the border problem with a stroke of his pen. "Can't" has nothing to do with it.

It allows him to stop legal border entries.

You really need to stop guessing what you think another poster means because you are not good at it.

It only allowed border entries to be stopped after they reached a daily number that is double the current daily average. So they would just have to wait until the next day in the case of the odd surge. That doesn't reduce immigration, it just makes it easier for the govt to process them by reducing surges and spreading them out over more time. Its not a solution to anything.

Processing them faster and getting them out of the country is absolutely a positive

    In 2023-
    ~820,000 admitted
~2.7M "interactions" (generally understood to be illegal crossings)
    ~140,000 deported

How exactly is increasing processing going to help increase deportations if we're deporting so few? The goal is supposed to be reducing immigration.

And why let them in only to deport them? Thats the least efficient way to do it. They can apply for entry before being let in ...if we secured the border, of course.

Or what about not letting them in, in the first place, so you wouldn't need MORE people to help process the destruction of the country?

And saying that implies I'm on target, and making that position uncomfortable.
People who can't figure out what other peoples motives and thinking are... haven't figured out how their own thinking works.
I've been teaching people how to do that for 40+ years. It's not a guessing process at all, and it doesn't take a lot of information to do it.
I am not only good at it, clinical psychologists often attended my classes to learn how. While it's simple, few people can do it.
It takes a very secure person and a savvy mind to learn. Most people lack that and can't, so they assume others can't either.

Then you have an issue with the amnesty process — which I also have an issue with.

Courts have ruled that the president lacks the authority to make these changes — that needs to be done by congress.

Oh, I'm painfully aware of how few people care about anything but themselves and right now..... and how few of them will ever be able to do something better for themselves.
But unlike those people, I do care. I care about the future of the country, and everyone in it. We are all part of the same society. If I help someone else improve their world- I improve my world too.
Unfortunately, a lot of people want the better world, but see no reason to change or grow. And- I'm aware of where you stand in this spectrum of people, from those who want the best world, and those who sit back and wait for somebody else to fix their world for them.

If it's that easy to quote a credible source, maybe it would a good idea to not use one that has been proven so many times, even in courts, to be nothing but a partisan mouthpiece with no regard whatsoever for facts.

    Just a suggestion.

So is it your belief that we should not let any immigrants into our country? At all?

Only those coming in legally, mostly through an airport(since no one on foot has any use to us), full documentation, with a bank account to prove self sufficiency or a proven job offer, possess career/skills/education we need, and mostly fluent in English. Basically a job interview, like how Sweden or Netherlands does it. What can YOU do for US, not what can WE do for YOU.

The days of the "tired" and "poor" and before that are loooooooooooong OVER!!! We're no longer constructing a nation, creating farms across the vast plains, building a society. We don't need millions of bodies to build railroads and cities. The OLD paradigm doesn't apply anymore. Its a new world. As long as we offer any sort of "free" benefits, we can't also offer "free" immigration. You need to start PAYING or proving you can, if you want entry. Way back when, if you couldn't work, you died. If you couldn't take care of yourself you died. If you stole or murdered someone, you mostly died. You pissed off a neighbor, you might've die too=) There was no welfare. There was no free education. No free hospitals. You had to trade or pay...or you just....died. You kept close to family. You made friends with those around you because you relied on each other. Everyone teamed up...or you died.

If we don't change NOW, we're ALL going to DIE, because the country will be toast, or at the least we'll be Brazil, lawless, corruption everywhere, gangs having more power than police. And its ALL due to ignorant naive policy that claims if we take in people with no resources from FAILED countries, simply living here will fix THEM. NOPE, they are destroying US, because they already DESTROYED the countries they're coming from. The logical conclusion is, as we take in more, we become more like THEM, which means failure. Every sign is pointing in that direction. So how do we become better? Only take in GOOD people that can make us better. Not just bodies looking for handouts. But that's exactly what every person walking through a border wants. Handouts and HELP. Why is it our responsibility to help THEM? They should be helping us.

    Have to endorse your position.
Experience has shown us, though we haven't learned well- that trying to help those who won't help themselves is a major mistake, that hurts both sides of the equation in the long run..
If you want a good society, it can only be built with good people. That means you have to be careful who you add to it. And that means- you have to be careful who you let make and enforce the rules.
We're failing to remember that the real objective is a better America; failing to live by that guideline.

Courts also ruled that he has no authority to forgive student loans but he's doing it anyway.

    So that excuse doesn't work

That isn’t what they ruled. They said he couldn’t forgive some loans, the way he was doing it.

He cannot do blanket forgiveness, he can use programs that are already set up.

Notice how he didn’t forgive all student loans? He has to operate within the confine of the laws as established.

Please, try to follow what these decisions mean — ignorance typically is a poor debate strategy.
