That's one thing I find interesting about the Latino vote. Many Democrats want this amnesty bill to go through, not realizing that many of the immigrants that will be legalized are more likely to have strong conservative values, particularly on social issues. It could easily backfire on the Democrats.
Nope. He only got 34% http://www.businessweek.com/stories/2004-11-28/did-hispanics-really-surge-to-bush
Did I ever refer to Zimmerman as a "Tea Party darling"? If I ever did, you seem to labour under the delusion that the GOP nominating him is a serious consideration. The TPs have evoked Zimmy in their inveterate reviling of their amorphous bête noire, the "left", and I facetiously quipped that the paucity of viable GOP presidential material might even dispose them to put the neighbourhood activist on their 2016 ticket. (The NRA's president proclaiming that "George Zimmerman is the NRA!" is suggestive, and provides some cachet with that crowd, surely.) But you seem to be the only one taking the jest seriously. Don't. There is a very real chance that they might find a nominee superior to McCain, Romney, or Zimmerman. I'm sure they hope so. .
Yes Please reference where I thought he was in serious consideration by the GOP? I've been arguing exactly the opposite. Zimmerman is your guy. He's a Democrat and Obama supporter.
You seem fixated upon the notion, but if it is your position that you never regarded Zimmerman's chances of winning the GOP presidential nomination as being very good, we apparently agree. I never considered him a realistic possibility. The NRA's president gushy proclamation that "George Zimmerman is the NRA!" may have given some TPs such delusions, maybe not. Apparently, neither of us woud waste time pursuing such a silly suggestion. Surely, the GOP can find someone better than Zimmerman, McCain, or Romney.
If it makes you feel better to believe that there was once serious consideration for Zimmerman being a potential GOP presidential nominee due to TP backing, and that you were especially perceptive in suspecting otherwise, confer that distinction upon yourself, by all means. I am unaware of anyone intimating that you were behind the Zimmerman for President initiative. Take my advice: Feel smug, and try to let it go. No one has yet even approached George to counter the Turdblossom Rove wing of the Party, as far as I know, and anyone suggesting it as a realistic possibility is probably quite silly. .
Heh, I do feel smug. I actually made you realize how ridiculous your original comments sounded and you backtracked. So yes, I'll let it go. Victory is mine!
1. Seems likely. 2. Seems likely. 3. most libertarians will likely vote for Rand. libertarians, even those registered, are not monolithic, but there are a few hundred thousand that will not be satisfied with Rand and still vote third party. 4. I think the state of the economy is overplayed. Fundraising seems to play an even bigger role. If the economy is like it was when Bush left office but Democrats still outraise Republicans like they did in 2008, the Democrats will win again. 5. I'm also a sexist for thinking that ACA is sexist.
Bush pandered to the Hispanic vote with public claims of wanting amnesty. Sadly that sort of thing is probably the only kind of thing that may make a Republican electable in a general Presidential election. The Republican would have to out Liberal the Democrat. This is the reality of politics in America today. Its like if teenagers voted for the kind of Dad they wanted. One who required the teenager to do his homework, come home by 12:00am on the weekends and required chores to be done around the house for a modest allowance vs. a Father who did the homework for the teenager allowed him to stay out all night and gave him an excessive allowance for doing nothing. The teenager is going to vote to have the Liberal hands off Dad. This is the state of society now. We have reached the tipping point and it will stay this way till things fall completely apart.
1. The Republican establishment will be crushed in a wave of socially conservative idiocy, and be forced to nominate a disastrous far-right Bible-thumping racist, Michele Bachmann, with Steve King as her VP nominee. 2. Hillary Clinton will shock the political world and decide not to run for president. 3. Joe Biden will be the Democratic nominee, with a young, promising VP nominee, maybe Sen. Tammy Baldwin or Hawaii Rep. Tulsi Gabbard. 4. Jon Huntsman will mount a third-party bid with Alaska Sen. Lisa Murkowski as his VP, and win the presidency in the closest and most controversial election in American history, with recounts in nearly a dozen states, with all but two, the states of Utah and Virginia, going in his favor (Utah to Bachmann and Virginia to Biden.) 5. Huntsman will quickly become one of the most popular presidents in American history. 6. Huntsman will rejoin the GOP and decline to run for reelection. 7. Murkowski will run for president and win in a landslide against a far-left nominee who will be anathema to moderates and independents, specifically Ohio Sen. Sherrod Brown, who will nominate former Wisconsin Sen. Russ Feingold as his VP. 2016 and 2020.
Hillary? Quoted as saying that we should (wack wiki leeks)? Even though I am sure that she is aware that the US stopped sanctioning hits long ago? At least they paid the lip service to the American people. It is indeed unfortunate that such a vile creature as Hillary could very well end up as president. She is nothing more than another arch criminal politician that has managed to sway the general masses and is supported by select corporate criminals and the elite few. Make no mistake, as soon as she is an obstacle to these evil cabaals she will be yesterdays news. Now here is Ron Paul, apparently a guy who means to take back some of the illgotton gains fleeced from the public. i have heard it all before...it is all meaningless. the same corrupt system will go on as before. For those over 50, just take a moment and look back at all the elected (officials and all the BS they had to say and the end result is our current mess. Until there is real accountability, meaning the same punishments for them as the rest of the country, how can anything change?
Rand and Rubio have the same issue and neither will run in 2016. In Florida and Kentucky their is a law that states you cannot be on two ballots at the same time in the same election cycle. Both of them are up for re-election in 2016. If they go on the ballot for President then they can't be on the ballot for Senator. If they choose to go on ballot as President and lose, they are out of a job completely. They are both campaigning right now to be chosen as a VP. Ted Cruz is too far right and most won't vote for him. Christie is too fat and people just can't see him as a President. Sad truth. Bush... well his name is Bush, so he won't win. ------------------------------------------------------------------ 2016 is going to be another upset year in politics. Obama was a no-name and came out of nowhere and stole the show from Hillary and McCain. He said all the right things and people got excited. It will be the same way in 2016 with someone you've never heard of today, winning it all.
Demokrat: Yeah, might be a little bit of a Huntsman fan. But I actually think he'll run. Anyone who says they're open to it four years in advance is probably already running.
There's many online polls asking people who they would vote for in 2016 if the vote took place today. It looks like Hillary is overwhelmingly winning all of them.
