There is still a small, but greater than zero chance Trump stays in the White House. Biden makes him janitor.

And they are not looting or rioting, which the far right would have you believe. Contrast that with Trumpers who this past week were heckling and threatening vote counters.

The left only spent months doing that, so people could be forgiven.

(*Sigh!*) Trump has faults, and always will... just like presidents before him. But it is asinine to accuse him of trying to take away anyone's right to vote legally.

Now, I suggest to all of you in the hyperliberal Left that you 'get off the rag', enjoy your victory, and try (TRY) to think about what is necessary for the GOOD of the entire United States.

Epilogue: Trump never was "my" guy... but, for a number of reasons, I considered him to be considerably better for the entire country than a disgraced, old machine-politician like Biden, but we've got what we've got....

Now we all have to try to do the best we can with what we've got -- WHILE WE OBEY AND RESPECT THE EXACT WORDING OF THE CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES, with the Supreme Court doing the official interpretation of what means what.

If we can agree on even just that much, it is a beginning.

I agree completely. This election is proof positive that there are no wide scale attempts to suppress voters.

I am trying to 're-tool' my mind now that Biden has been proclaimed the winner, even by Fox. I see no sense in unnecessarily crapping-up my own life by cultivating more loathing and disgust for Joe Biden.

I could go on and on for the better part of the next hour listing all the things I have disagreed with Donald Trump on, and at least another hour making a similar list about my dislike and abhorrence for Joe Biden.

It's done... it's over... and now, as always, life goes on. The big (really BIG) worry we'd all better have now is how we're going to keep the country from falling completely apart -- economically, and socially -- from now until about the end of next June!

Afterthought: If I 'ruled the world' it would not necessarily be a better place, but it sure as hell would be a very different one! Still, I've rarely ever gotten what I personally wanted from any president in my whole, long life....

Hoffentlich geht's für Biden besser. Wenn nicht, wird er in zwei Jahren auch gehasst. Thus, ol' Joe's got the first two years to GET IT RIGHT. If he doesn't, we on the Right will be swarming over him like pissed-off Army Ants in the jungle....

Blah, blah, blah... it's OVER, Te. You guys won... I predicted it weeks ago!

Maybe ol' Joe will turn out better than many of us think! I'm certainly willing to give Joe a chance to see what he actually WILL do once he's the "Man in the High Castle". I'm willing to 'sheathe my sword' and give the man a chance once he's actually in COMMAND. And, truly, that's more than nearly everyone on the hyperliberal Left was willing to do for Trump when he beat Hillary....

Still in all, as I said many, many times -- although Trump pushed through a number of beneficially remedial policies -- like defending our borders, he also did a number of things that HURT me financially. Now, is Biden going to do anything to increase interest rates to preserve the value of the U. S. Dollar and reward people with savings accounts with anything more than a "FUGG YOU"? Is Biden going to be the first president since "W" Bush to fairly increase cost-of-living increases in Social Security for people who have EARNED it? We'll see....

And, at this point, we must (MUST) focus on the period of time between right now and about the end of next June. It's going to be a miserable, bitchy winter, and whether we're all in 'love' with each other or not, we'd damn sure better put all our hatred and loathing aside, treat each other fairly, and get through what's coming.... President-Elect Biden has our future in his hands, and for the sake of ALL of us who are citizens of this country, I wish him well.

I am from Bosnia. That war was the most unnecessary war ever. No one gained anything from it.

There’s no point discussing anything with him. He never brings any evidence to support his claims. He thinks that saying “I’m objectively right” is meaningful.
It isn’t. He just makes stuff up and claims it’s the truth.

To me it has nothing to do with left and right, this was not a vote for Biden, this was a vote against Trump.
The right will not give Biden one day, they will start swarming all over him from day one.
What do I feel, a dark cloud has been lifted from this wonderful country and its wonderful people.
I am a foreigner, live here since over 30 years. The last 4 years I did not feel comfi anymore, not welcome any more.
It is the atmosphere Trump created
I have decided to leave, 2 years ago, when my business sells, I am gone.

My hope for the US, Biden will give the Reps and Dems time, to develop some good candidates for the next election, for President, for Senate and the House, so it has a future.

I'm sad that you are leaving. I liked everything else about your post, though.

You have to remember that Biden is a Blue Dog Democrat that is well liked in The Senate. Obama was not liked at all.

It may be different this time.

I like your optimism, but I'm not sure it is warranted. Being the 'party of No' is very much part of the GOP brand these days and I don't see that changing at the top level. Like or dislike doesn't have much to do with it.

If there is hope it might come from Georgia. If the Dems can pick up even one of those Senate seats in January they might be able to get one or two GOP Senators (Collins, for instance) over the line on enough issues to at least get some legislation through.

I am 100% against The WH and The Senate being the same party. That's not good for the people.

That might be a fine stance to take on principle, but the reality is that the Senate is effectively stacked in favour of the GOP. That means that they have a decreasing incentive to behave in a civilized fashion at any time.

No more evidence of that is required than the judicial confirmation fiasco of the past 6 years. Refusing to confirm justices under Obama and then packing the courts under Trump will do generational damage to America long after Trump is gone. The Dems deserve some sort of opportunity to redress that imbalance and pass some legislation.

I would be happy enough with a system where the President's party was never in control of the Senate. That would at least motivate both parties to compromise and work for functional government. At the moment one party has decided that it has zero incentive to do any of that, which is a very bad thing for America.

The Senate is not required to confirm a nominee.

Biden is old style, Blue Dog, or like me Reagan Dem, or in Germany I would be called a liberal conservative. Have conservative values but a world open view. I do not think in countries, nationalities, religions, or none. The world is my home.
When I made the decision, that it is time to leave, I was rather dysfunctional for several month. That is a rather brutal decision. 35 years, home steded the farm. Built three businesses. I always thought, this is were they throw me into the ditch with a bottle of Whisky and a coin, besides my favorite horse.
Will not happen. The last years of my live, I hope many are left, I want to be able to be a citizens again, voice my opinion, don't have my windows shot in, do not have to go through this disgusting process of immigration any more, which gets more disgusting every year, I do not want to have to pay in a social system which is not for me and so on and so on.
Ronald Reagan made me welcome and I have always admired him for that.
    The shining beacon.
That light sadly got turned of and I do not think it will ever turned on, again.

Am I sad, sure, but than look at the unbelievable opportunity I get at my age, 65.

What a adventure, financially sound, just live with in my current means, new country and a new live to built, with all the money needed.
Not scratching for pennies, built you dream and 27 countries to choose from and being finally a citizens again.

Trump's days as President is now lame duck. God only knows what he'll do in those lame duck days he has left.

I know, but blanket refusal for extended periods, especially from a party with an inbuilt advantage, is a decidedly negative development. Democracy works best when there is a willingness to compromise to ensure vital processes continue and when all sides have a motive to compromise. None of that is currently true of the GOP. This is not a good thing.

You're right. The part you are missing is that the democrats play the same games when they are in power.
