We started the year with a new President, Congress and House of Represenitives. Many new policies have been put in place and other older policies rolled back. We're finishing off the year with a lot of discontent in both parties. Yet the markets are up, Crypto currencies are booming and holiday sales are forecast to be strong. Yet there is a lot of talk of supply chain interuptions, labor shortages, and empty store shelves. Inflation is raising it's ugly head and consumers are paying more for fuel and heating.

I have the Lord.. so I have nothing to fear.. death is just a ticket home.. that said, it does not look so good for the billions worldwide.. afterall, the Bible states that Satan is the Prince of this World.

Stock is, among other things, being used in part as a hedge on inflation. If I buy a stock for $1 and inflation knocks $1 to $.50, the stock price, if it actually always was worth $1... the price will become $2. So, inflation can be expected to cause record stock prices.

The lockdown actually saved me a ton of $. In real terms, I expect inflation to wipe out those savings, and this appears to be intentional on the part of the cabal that fortified the child sniffer's 2020 election.

My kids are at a place where they are trying to start their adult lives. Housing prices are insane. I think they are being driven WAY up by a government that is subsidizing investment vehicles (Blackrock?). If their gambles don't pay off, expect the oligarchs to just take our tax $ to cover their bets. At this time, my kids are looking at simple split ranches that are going for $500K and shaking their heads thinking they are screwed.

Shortages are real. I've had to wait as much as 6 months for a new game console in the past. 1 year on, PS5s are nowhere to be seen. Try buying a graphics card for your gaming rig.

It is hard to feel secure when you feel like the establishment is in a full throat-ed blood lusting battle cry desiring to destroy you and your family. Socially? the kookiness with garbage like CRT in our classrooms?

We live in interesting times. And they are not making me feel very good.

Could be better, could be worse...events are being pushed along by those I have no control over and could care less whether I like it or not. I did have the advantage of being raised lower middle class by parents who were raised dirt poor...I'll survive one way or another until Atropos cuts my thread.

I may well be on Unpaid Administrative Leave by December 2 but I answered "More Secure" because I already have plans for what to do if my application for Accomodation of my refusal to take the Covid 19 vaccine for reasons of Religion / Creed is rejected.

As of now, 2021 has left me no better or nor worse than 2020 or 2019. My life style and standard hasn't change much whether the president is Biden, was Trump, Obama, Bush or Bill Clinton. I hate having to pay 3.50 for a gallon of gas when a year ago it was 2 dollars or 3 dollars for a loaf of breat when it use to be 2 dollars. Regardless, that doesn't crimp my style. With all this price rising, it does leave me wondering how much my natural gas bill will be this winter. Time will tell. But these things goes in cycles and I can live with it that way.

The Atlanta Braves won the world series, so I'm in hog heaven regardless of the price of a gallon of gas.

Things for me have never been better. In addition to what the stock market is doing for me I enjoyed those unexpected checks I got in the mail like everyone else received.

I am more secure on account of getting a new job with a 65% raise.

I quit my old job due to ethical concerns, but I quickly found a new position that I enjoy a lot more. Although it pays slightly less, it still pays very well, and the career path I'm now on has more long-term earning potential. Plus, my old job gave me 4 months severance for a mutual separation agreement and I found that new job in 1 month, so I get to pocket that extra 3 months of pay :cheerleader:

My wife got let go from her job due to COVID cutbacks, but she also found a better job, for much better pay very quickly, and they've already started tossing raises her way.

We lost one of our dogs unexpectedly, which was probably our darkest cloud this year. He was only 4 and was such an amazing creature, but he had a nerve disease that proved fatal.

The only thing worse for me is not being able to spend time with my extended family. We usually have a family reunion every Memorial Day. 2020 and 2021 reunions were cancelled. We're hoping 2022 will be better.
I still get to see my kids and grandkids regularly; I'm very grateful for that.

Within a week I will know whether or not I will be put on Unpaid Administrative Leave but I kind of look forward to it......
I rather suspect that the RCMP officers who arrested Mr. Maxime Bernier knew perfectly well that they would be seriously boosting his career in Canadian politics. Mr. Bernier's People's Party of Canada surged in popularity in our 2021 federal level election.

Maybe it's just the neighborhood I live in but gas has jump $1.20 a gallon higher than last year. It seems all the can items we eat have jumped a dime and beef and seafood prices have gone through the roof. Even chicken is a lot higer. On the other hand the stock market has been good up until now. If your a house seller you can make a lot of money but if your a buyer it might be better to wait. We found it's better to travel and get a hotel during the week and check out before the weekend. It looks like inflation is getting ready to take off so we are looking at buying I Bonds from the Treasury Yield for this period (6 months is 7.12 %. Changes every 6 months but better than money market funds and bank CD"S. Happy Hollidays.

Me? I'm as OK as ever, and all during my working years I did everything I could to arrange things so that I would not have to depend on government for ANYTHING but the bare minimum of infrastructure-related things for civilization even to function in 'modern times'.

This country, though, is significantly less secure, more fractured, and far more polarized than ever before -- even worse than it was during the Vietnam War, IMHO (and I lived through that whole damned thing). Back then, people were mostly angry with each other over our foreign policy -- but today, there is deep-seated, cold, hard HATRED just about everywhere here, over just about everything....

The main point -- we in the United States forget that we don't have the luxury of doing all this insanely, self-destructive crap in a VACUUM anymore! No. And now we've got the Russians and Chinese to deal with -- far more powerful and capable than they were as little as twenty years ago -- countering every move we make. And our moves, unfortunately, under BOTH Republicans and Democrats reflect great inconsistency, instability, and, at times, outright irresponsible STOOPIDITY! And, to make it worse, our adversaries are, sadly for us, pretty damned smart, experienced, intelligent, and quite powerful.

Pretty well. Made a lot more money this past two years, due to spending less (and we don't spend much anyway) and working a little more. Saved enough to buy another income producing asset - which doubles as security long term. That's always good.

Doing OK. I don't have money in the markets, used to and learned my lesson. Can you say MANIPULATED?
The belt went in a notch, paying $3.50 a gallon for diesel makes me twitch.

With the moratorium on foreclosures, we sat out 2021 and will see what happens when the foreclosures start hitting the market. Time to consider making them rentals rather than flipping them. That's the side job.

Primary work is going fine, sales are steady and the company is continuing to expand.

I have a pension indexed to the cost of living, so I am going to say about the same for now.

Sorry to hear about your dog.
This year I finally got around to replacing poor old Boudica (my avatar pic) after more than 10 years of being catless.
My new cat is also named after East Anglian monarchy. Raedwald was the Anglo-Saxon king thought to be buried at nearby Sutton Hoo.

BTW, unleaded is $8.80 a gallon here ($7.37 per US gallon) so you'll forgive me for not commiserating with you poor things having to pay $3.50.

Right now, besides cutting off electric power to tens of thousands of people because their power distribution system is so fugged-up that it starts fires in high winds, the erudite, 'woke' Democrat leaders of Commiefornia are focused on the necessity to pay REPARATIONS to Blacks, even though slavery ended 156 years ago!

2021 is ending for me in a state of grace. I started a new job for more money, with people and an industry I'm familiar with and respect, and in the past couple of weeks, I started dating someone special. I couldn't ask for more.
