I was staying at a hotel in Falls Church VA when a wave of terror hit that area like a enormous sledge hammer. All day long on TV were reports of killers shooting down people in VA and MD.
A Home Depot in Falls Church was where one woman was killed as I was then in Falls Church. I departed SF Airport just after the shootings started. But the terror that was all over the area had to be felt in person to be believed. Getting gas meant you went to a station where they put up tarps to hide cars from the gunmen.
I was at Gettysburg PA when they caught the two killers. One killer was later executed in 2009 but the one that did most of the shooting is still in prison in VA.

Any of you recall this and can tell us where you were when this was going on?

Departing Gettysburg as it happens I drove down the highway very near where the two were captured. It was hard not to be near some of the deaths.

This event hurt my pocket, big time. I worked for one of the major sports companies on straight commission and because of the shootings all the youth sports were cancelled that spring. What a disaster.

That is news to me. Thanks for that report. It was so terrible it is easy to see what you said actually happening. The killings happened in October so why cancel spring events?

My mistake, it was the spring season that I delivered no product as retailers were over inventoried from the fall cancelations.
Only thing I recall clearly was losing a full season monetarily as a result of the killings.
