No person shall be a Senator or Representative in Congress, or elector of President and Vice-President, or hold any office, civil or military, under the United States, or under any State, who, having previously taken an oath, as a member of Congress, or as an officer of the United States, or as a member of any State legislature, or as an executive or judicial officer of any State, to support the Constitution of the United States, shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof. But Congress may by a vote of two-thirds of each House, remove such disability.

IF tRaitor tRump is convicted of any one of the charges against him he can never hold office in These United States ... EVER ... AGAIN.

Not only that but he would probably spend the rest of his life in jail.

None of the charges fall under the 14th Amendment. So, too bad.

Depending on the details, this entire thing could show the corruption of Democrats.

I mean just assume - hypothetically just for a moment for the sake of argument - Trump were not guilty and should not be criminally charged.
Could you imagine this story ever happening to a Democrat?
Republican prosecutors and biased judges in Republican-majority districts ganging up to bring down a Democrat politician.
We know it would be pretty unlikely to happen. But among Democrats in that area there is a lower level of moral decency.

I'll actually grant you that Trump is a little bit slimy. But what many don't seem to understand is it's a cultural phenomena in that entire area where he comes from (NYC to DC). Most businessmen there are slimy, the Democrat leaders there are slimy.

And Democrats sure seem to be worried about the prospect Trump could become president again.
    Why is that?

All four of the latest charges would fall under A14-S3.

It is too bad that These United States have come to a point where a former president is accused of committing fraud against OUR Nation and, ALL Americans, that he SWORE to defend and protect.

How tRaitor tRump of you to try to cover his crimes by accusing patriotic Americans. -sad

TRaitor tRump is a “little bit slimy” like an expectant woman is a little bit pregnant.

After his first go round as president and, the threats he’s making while running for office, should make ALL Americans fear him becoming president, ever again.

LOL.... that's all sorts of funny...

Bold 1 - Theoretically, sure, but Democrats don't suck as badly
Bold 2 - Gee thanks.... I'll go ahead and grant you that oxygen is required for life on this planet
Bold 3 - Because he's was a shitty president the first time... I could go on, but I really don't think I need to...

    Enjoyable interlude!

Yeah?? Doubtful. He's not being charged with those crimes..

There was talk about invoking the 14th amendment BEFORE this set of indictments.... Not saying somebody won't make a legit try of it, but it won't be because of these particular crimes..

    https://www.citizensforethics.org/r...-disqualification-from-office-14th-amendment/

I'm all for it of course... but we had the EASY chance at that magic bullet and McConnell ****ed it up...

?? What's to stop him from running, and losing again, in 2028?

Well, that was the goal all along wasn't it?

The left is so absolutley terrified of Trumps ability to win, their entire witchhunt is based upon trying to call it an insurrection and convict him so they don't have to beat him at the polls.

Every played a game or athletic event where the opponent is scared of losing, so they start bitching and moaning and trying to find every technicality to earn a forfeit?

    That's the whining dems.

The left has made a massive error here.

They have shut down Trump and those that claim election fraud as conspiracy theorists.

This lawsuit just gave Trumps attorneys supeona power and any evidence of fraud validates the capital protest.

This isn't going to play out well for the dems. Everybody can admit there was some fraud.

That won't do it either... The only 2 things that will stop this virus from running for president is losing in a primary or death.... and those are not the locks they used to be...

Cheese and Rice! The ONLY, actual, election fraud was tRaitor tRump, many attempts to subvert and, overturn a free and fair election.

You can’t say that, you don’t know the charges. And “conspiring to overturn an election is sedition when you use the full force of the presidency.

But, first he would have to be convicted which could result in him spending the rest of his, usefullless life in prison. Making the 14th redundant.

What lawsuit is that? Enlighten us...

Regardless, this judge will not allow ridiculous fishing expeditions.... she's already made her first ruling just today shutting down a delay tactic...

As far as your "fraud", here's a phrase you really need to get familar with, since Smith uses it 9 times... outcome-determinative

You think there will be insurrection, rebellion, sedition charges in Georgia? I guess it's possible, but I think Fani will be more meat and potatoes than that... Those terms are a bitch to prove.... Organized crime, while not easy, is easier than that...

Perhaps Monday.... the street surrounding the Fulton C Courthouse was closed on Friday, for the next 2 weeks...

FTR, I don't believe conviction of any state or federal crime is required to invoke the 14th, much like there aren't crimes required to impeach, convict, remove, and disqualify.

Incorrect. You included it yourself when you quoted 14.3:

Now that does mean it's unlikely, even extremely so, but it is still possible for him to hold office again.

Yep, we need to do away with the Republican Party and have nothing but Democrats in office with perfect party discipline. It worked well in the Soviet Union with the Communist Party as the only legal entity. We can weaponize the courts and the police to stamp out all decent. It worked well in Nazi Germany and is great for Communist China.

So, yea, bring it on! :(
