Hate crimes are NOT "subjective" at all!

The laws require specific evidence that attack is based on the classification of the victim, and requires MUCH more than just saying a offhanded comment, or that the attackers and victim be of different categories.

 

I detest the idea of hate crimes legislation because it is yet another excuse to create "special" classes and "groups" at the expense of the individual. It is a label to say that labels are wrong.

There isn't a single case of purposeful assault where the person doing the harming wasn't a hateful person.

If hate crimes legislation actually prevented crime or had proof that it prevented crimes I might reluctantly agree with this nonsense, but it does not and just serves the purpose of dividing Americans.

You can abuse this group and get a lesser penalty than abusing that group. What kind of example does that really set?

There are better means of going about the same thing, which is promoting unity and tolerance--something you can't do when you purposefully set groups against each other.

Sadly for Ksig, sadly for the dumbo who made the Youtube video because anything that is NOT a cartoon puts him to sleep, and too bad for the authors of South Park who are very often right on with their parody, they are 100% wrong with their description of what a "hate crime" IS. So is the guy who nade the Youtube, sos is Ksig ad so is the people on this site who whine on about how "whites are victims" when they get a bad punishment for hanging nooses in people's carports.

Crimes designed to intimidate ENTIRE classes of people ARE different than a crime committed that only affect ONE person.

Further, NOTHING about "black victims" make "hate crimes" particular to them! Blacks are charged with hate crimes, gays are charged with hate crimes, men, women everyone has their chance if they give clear evidence in the commission of their crime that they are attacking the general race or sex of the victim to intimidate MORE than just the ONE victim.

Agreed. ive always thought they were garbage. A punch in the nose is a punch in the nose no matter what verbal language accompanies it. We already ahve laws against every crime, adding new layers of redundancy is just pointless.

You're assuming they designed the crime rather than acted spontaneously like most criminals do.

They aren't intimidating more than one victim, though. That is an obscene stretch that minimizes the injury done to the individual and their family and loved ones. That's a terrible mindset to instill. We should be told to be brave, to live without fear, not watch for boogeymen (real or not real) around every corner. That empowers hate, not minimizes it.

Individuals are injured. Individuals do, in fact, matter.

If my female neighbor is raped by a man who hates women it doesn't affect me. It affects her, her husband, children, parents and extended family more than it affects me.

How do you know the man is racist? One's skin color doesn't make one a racist or not a racist.

Shouldn't you side with the victim who was beaten up?

 

Because the people charged with a hate crime have said or done something to PROVE IT, which is why they get charegd with a "hate crime"!

Things HAVE to be said like "We were driving around looking for n------rs to beat up" or "We are going to out to kill the (*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*)s" or " We are setting up to off Whiteys EVERYWHERE"! What typically trips up so may whites is they are members of White Supremacist groups and have TATTOOS and T-shirts and Hats and have made speeches talking about killing or forcing all non-whites to leave the country. When they are caught LITERALLY red-handed killing or simply intimidating a minority, the hate crime charge is EASY to prove, and it was a crime against ALL minorities, not just the particular victim.

When its murder, the penalty is harsh already, but when it is acts of intimidation and harassment to drive a particular group out of a neighborhood, then it helps because the racist assailants might get 2 weeks for punching a guy or pushing him around and didn't mind the punishment , but when they get 2 YEARS for the much more serious hate crime, the campaign to chase out their victim race is much more difficult to do..

This is where the hate crime legislation violates the 1st Amendment. When assaulting someone, a criminal still has the right to freely express themselves. If I want to beat up a f_____t or a n____r, then I have the inalienable right to freely vocalize my intentions.

Basically, gays have no use for women and look down on them, lesbians often really hate men for being larger and hostile. The gays and lesbians are similar enough to know that the other hates them and every once in awhile it gets ugly.

 

This is very true. Not too difficult to understand since gay men often find women disgusting... and most lesbians despise men.
