Seems like there's some validity to the idea that beefed up security allows people to be protected. But the issue as illustrated by this case is that for every such beefed up area, there's a not-as-beefed up area that the racist can use to carry out their attack.

 

agree, sadly though carrying a gun comes with risks too if police see you as a "suspect", so what to do.... concealed carry should be a right, not a thing you have to ask permission for, as your gun being visible can be seen as a threat
