Actually birtherism has its genesis at the right wing forum called free republic.

It was not started by Hilary Clinton.

Sorry, just proved you wrong. Trash the source all you want, but it stands unrefuted unless you can find me any mention of birtherism prior to march 2008.

Plus, Loren Collins, the man who writes barackryphal, happens to be a Libertarian. He just happens to hate bald faced liars and loves debunking stuff.

His book, Bullspotting, is quite good too.

Sorry,You proved no one wrong....as far back as 1991 Obamas literary agents Actol and Dystel had it on file that he was born in Kenya, and raised in Indonesia and Hawaii, and it remained that way till he started his run for president.
    http://stevengoddard.wordpress.com/2014/08/23/exposing-the-original-birther-2/

So it appears Obama himself was the original birther

Sorry, but the author of that piece admitted she made a mistake.

Birtherism started on the right wing forum, free republic.

It was started by hillary staffers in the spring of 2008,so there wouldn't be any mention before then....duh.

I already proved you are incorrect. Hillary did not start birtherism. It began on the right wing forum free republic.

    - - - Updated - - -

It was started in March at free republic. Not by Hillary.

Oh sure. They had it the promo material for a book that said Obama was born in Hawaii. That sure as all hell makes sense.

IN FACT that mistake was not corrected early because no-one ever read it. That leaflet was not made for the public or to promore a specific book. It was a leaflet sent around within the publishing industry to introduce their authors to other publishers. Obama would never have seen it or read it. PLUS, as I have told you before, there were other errors in the leaflet. Tipp O'Neal was also one of the authors listed and in the Bio it got the year he was made speaker of the house completely wrong. I guess Tipp let that error stand too so it was the real truth.

Hell even BRAITBART who discovered the leaflet flat out said that it didn't prove that Obama was really born in Kenya. Dont believe me? Heres the article!! http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Govern...nt-1991-Born-in-Kenya-Raised-Indonesia-Hawaii

You can look right at the entry to Tipp O'Neal as well and thrill at how every other source has gotten the year wrong. After all it must be true becasue no-one caught the mistake for 17 years.

PLUS, at the same time that was written Obama was the editor of the Harvard Law review. 3 guesses where his bio in the HLR said he was born. If you said Kenya you don't get a cookie. PLUS the famous "Barry Soetoro" School entrance form (For a christian school, sorry he wasn't educated in a Madrassa!) that the Birthers wave about as the 100% truth... said he was born in Honolulu.

Plus, sorry for all those claims that no-one knew him, but in fact LOTS OF PEOPLE remember the young Barry Obama!

    http://www.thefogbow.com/special-reports/people-remember-president-obama/

And I'm sure you are going to come up with lots of links about the Clinton Aides telling people that Obama was born in Kenya, to prove what you are saying. After all we have given links and quoted sources to what WE have said.

    Any time.

Well come on then. Chop chop.

Otherwise someone might get the impression that you are just saying it without any proof whatsoever, and we know that a fairminded and intelligent chap such as yourself yourself would never do such a thing as just keep repeating something that you have no proof for whatsoever just because you find the alternative a little awkward. So, I'm sure you will be bringing up the links to prove what you say.

    Any time.

    *Waits on the toilet patiently*

No,you've stated why you THINK it was started on free republic....you didn't 'prove' jack.

And I never claimed it was started by hillary, just nervous staffers when hillary started slipping in the polls in 2008

You mean that Tipp O'NIELL really became house speaker in 1976?? After all, if it was false SOMEONE would have read it in 17 years and would have corrected it!! Fer shire! Guess all those history books and the house record is wrong! ITS THE GREATEST CONSPIRACY IN THE WORLD!!

So wheres the proof that you avoided me asking about?

OK, you have accidentally nailed your foot to the floor by putting forward a scenario with a verifiable fact! *crack knuckles* Lets look back in the past to see what spills out if you look at the polls.

Barack Obama was behind Hillary in electoral count until SuperTuesday, which in 2008 was on Feb 5th. After super tuesday he was ahead and precipitated a months long primary fight. SO! The slippage in the polls that precipitated this must have been before the beginning of march when the free republic piece started. IN fact Loren Collens points to an article by Eugine Volock on feb 28th as the one that inspired The question on free republic.

SO the "slipping in the polls" must have been between Feb 5th and 28th, since Hillary was comfortably in the lead in Electoral votes before super tuesday and there would have been no need for any staffer to panic.

SO lets look at the polls!!

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nation...Democratic_Party_2008_presidential_candidates
So at the beginning she was around 42-43 % average, and at the end she was around 42-43% average. That's one huge slip right there.

Yes, birthers hate me. Why do you ask?

Oh and before you say I stopped the list prior to the March post in free rep, which means the staffer must have popped it out between March 1 and 5th or something, the next poll on march 7th had Hillary at 47% which is a huge slip you will agree. Oh yeah and Hillary's numbers were largely unchanged in January too as anyone can see if they click the link.

Wow, such an itch to get them Birthers to a dialog to show them the folly of their ways... Such an indignation, such an eagerness to prove birthers are out of their (*)(*)(*)(*)ing minds to even suspect the Great One to be a (*)(*)(*)(*)ing liar... Whatever he's not, he'll never be remembered a good president, so I'll leave you with that thought.

And no, his birth certificate is fake even though he was, of course, born in Hawaii :)
