Yes where you grow up matters. How do you explain that I was brought up Catholic to the point I received my conformation but once I joined the Marines at 19 stopped going to church and became a Deist ? I still know US history however. What happened to you as you sure seem to have lost you Christianity if you ever had any

The thing is you can not make yourself believe something if you don't

    Reminds me of this song

Yes, he studied the Qur'an to learn more about his enemy. Jefferson fought the Muslim pirates.

He only believed in those that were not concerned with divinity . Read his bible. He is my favorite founder

    - - - Updated - - -

Because they attacked US shipping not because of their religion. There were even Muslims fighting in the war of Independence on our side though very few

the point of the video is that social pressure and indoctrination are a powerful force

that's the reason there are so many christians in this country

and so many muslims in saudi arabia

i read a few and had already seen them all before

watch the video or i'll have to add another item to my list

#12 - won't watch a video that refutes their belief

he wanted to make peace with the ottoman corsairs

You mean the divinity of Jesus. Jefferson believed in a Creator. He doesn't have to believe Jesus was God to believe in God the Creator. Jews believe in God the Creator, but not the divinity of Jesus.

Well it seems your now agreeing with me and changing your tune. The god of the NT is Jesus. He like me does not believe there is a god so vain that he would demand we worship him or go to hell.

You claim the creator is the god of the bible and since it seems to me you are a Christian that means Jesus. He didn't even believe Jesus called for a new religion which he did not by the way. The DOI means exactly what it says Creator and leaves that up to the individual to decide what that is

Its the whole basis of our form of government. That since our rights come from our creator man can not take them away if they came from man as you believe we in reality have no rights. Just what ever man wills.

Right back at ya. Most find it easier to believe all has come from something than nothing

Then why do you constantly post it?

Not to you there is not there was to Jefferson who wrote the DOI. Ill go with his view

You post more misinformation than almost anyone here . As you can see I at least take both sides and even defend some of your positions.

creationism is an outdated view with no factual support

his main philosophy was to base opinions on reason

not accept views because they were popular

i take the side that is supported by science, facts, evidence and logic

here's what a question based on misinformation looks like:

do you know what 'constantly' means?

He reasoned there is a creator

So you keep claiming. When science can prove the non existence of god or most anything else let me know even the flying spaghetti monster

I guess you think your clever

In your case that would be most of the time as you regurgitate the same responses over and over

    in the 18th century

you obviously don't understand how proof works or who has the burden of proof

i think i have a better education than you got

what would be most of the time

I still reason it the same as do most.

Again I claim the same for you

I doubt that. I have asked you many a time for such information and you never reply. I have given you some of mine. Did you go to college ? If so where and what was your major? Did you win scholastic scholarships to college? As far as reasoning and logic go were you on your states HS championship chess team did you take Geometry and get 100 on the regents? If you were in the service did you graduate number 1 from every course you took like electrical theory ? I spent half my 4 years in the Corps going to schools on avionics. Did you score in the 97th percentile on your PSATs?

Most of the time you post misinformation
