67% of Obamacare enrollees have paid so far

By STEPHANIE CONDONCBS NEWSApril 30, 2014, 6:05 PM

As of April 15, 67 percent of Americans enrolled in the federally-run Obamacare marketplace had paid their first monthly premium, according to data collected by the House Energy and Commerce Committee.

While it's still too early to have a complete picture of the way the Affordable Care Act has shaped the individual health insurance market, the new data helps give a better picture of who's fully participating in the marketplace. President Obama and Democrats have touted Obamacare's strong enrollment figures -- by April 17, more than 8 million had signed up for private insurance on the new Obamacare marketplaces -- but Republicans have been quick to point out that the enrollment process isn't complete until a consumer pays his first premium.

Outgoing Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius acknowledged as much in late March: "You are not fully enrolled... until you pay your premium," she told Oklahoma City CBS affiliate KWTV.

    9 million <---- rounding up big time multiplied by .67 = 6,030,000.

We are starting to dial in the numbers a bit better so we can all understand the real truth. No Obamafuscating!

O-care hasn't even achieved bringing down the uninsured rate to 2008 or Pre-2008 levels.

    This is a rigged poll.
It's designed to fool stupid people into believing that ObamaCare is a failure.
It's rigged by having the survey was completed before the premium was due.
It's like asking if people have paid their June Mortgage on May 20, and then reporting that a huge number of mortgages are unpaid.
And why poll to find out if people have paid, before the due date?
Obviously to get a result that shows large numbers of people haven't paid.
Because if you want to make the case that ObamaCare is a failure, you can't cite the number of people who signed up (actually a million more than expected), and you can't cite premiums (actually lower than expected), and you can't revisit horror stories (all debunked by the press), but you have to keep the sheep believing it's a huge failure, so you rig a poll to show a number that looks like a failure, but actually only means that you took a poll way before the premium was due.
And heres the sad part, the people who are being lied to, like being lied to, there is no penalty incurred by lying to them, when the lie is finally exposed, you just move them onto a new lie, they just shrug it off.

Arent all polls rigged? If the poll taker is dem it will be slanted dem if the poll taker is repub then it will be slanted their way.

This is the best information we have so far since the current administration failed to put an effective tracking measure into their tax/law

How desperate are you? This is a CBS report based on government data you were quoting, not a poll.

Right, poor choice of words, it's not a poll, it is a report that says "A large number of people have paid before the payment is due".
And that's a factoid, it's probably true, but it's being used as the last attempt to discredit ObamaCare, because the right can't talk about what a failure it is, since more people signed up than expected, since the number of young people who signed up is sufficient to keep premiums lower than expected, since it appears to be working as planned, and since the polls are now moving towards acceptance.
And the main reason you know ObamaCare is a success, is that the GOP isn't talking about it, instead they have dredged up Benghazi, because even after two years of getting nothing from that cow, they feel better about it than they do about trying to milk ObamaCare......which is working as planned...that's desperation.
Desperation based on their plan to ride the train wreck of ObamaCare into the election, making "I told you so" the main campaign slogan, but that's out now isn't it?
So back to Benghazi.....and that move back to Benghazi, is the GOP acceptance that ObamaCare is a success, and so they have to move the sheep back to the Benghazi pasture......

Actually the situation will be much worse when [if ever] they let the cancellation numbers out. Do people here really think because a person starts a policy they KEEP a policy? There will be cancellations every month, and since this is not like car Ins and you cant drive your car without coverage, these policies will fall off like water off a ducks back,,just wait!

First ones will be the young..., they will miss their premiums first. This cancellation rate will be much higher than Auto,,,much! I doubt very much we will ever get those numbers.

They probably should have done it like the Medicare D--sure you can enroll any year, but for every year you wait after you first become eligible, you have to pay a permanent penalty by having higher and higher premiums than you otherwise would have..

True, that may help, but as for the young they live for today, tomorrow never comes. I still find it incredible the same people that have heard all their lies, the same people that had to swallow their pride because they saw we were right and they were lying all along, these same people believe them now...
    So I ask,,,,,,,,,,,,,What's changed?

Nothing. The conservative still hate it and the liberals still love it and it doesn't matter who on which side does or does not have a PPACA policy. This cost the dems the House in 2012 so the only real question is what the 5% in the middle think about it come Nov. 2014

Just goes to show that the Republicans/tea party will go to no ends in order to brainwash the American people with their false information.
