72 year old woman fends off intruder with .357 Magnum

Like the example where the 72 year old man was able to stop the intruder from beating his wife his wife to death with a club a couple of weeks ago we have another example of an honest law-abiding citizen successfully protecting herself and her 85 year old wheelchair-bound WWII veteran husband from being victimized by a career criminal.

If Feinstein and people of her ilk had their way, Mrs. Cooper would have been left with no options other than begging the dispatcher to send help. Of course, if a police officer had happened to have been parked in front of her house, then perhaps they might be saved, but in the real world, that is very unlikely to be the case.

Of course, there is no way of knowing what the drug addict breaking in would have done had Mrs. Cooper not exercised her 2nd Amendment rights, but there are certainly a lot of examples of home invasion crimes that ended very badly for the victims.

What would the anti-gun fanatics do if they found themselves face-to-face with a hardened criminal in the middle of the night? Beg for them not to slit their throats, rape their children etc?

Nation average response time about 8 minutes and it only takes a second for a home intruder to kill the home owner. Every citizen should be trained and have a firearm to defend life and property...it is as important now as having a cell phone.

I live right down the street from where this occurred. Glad the woman did the right thing. 357 will do the trick if you're going to go the handgun route.

I heard on the radio he was in a halfway house not far from the residence he was trying to rob. I just wonder if he's one of "Jerry's Kids". Yea, and in fact, if it was a tank, she would need a bazooka, so they should be legal too. The fact is that it was not 6 or 7 of them. She did not use any weapons that are being discussed to be banned, and she should be able to pass a background check. So this story does nothing but re-enforce that the laws being proposed would not stop people from defending themselves. If your only defense is "what if" scenarios, then you are clearly showing how this thread about this story is just more right wing delusions trying to defend arming crazy people and criminals with assault weapons by using stories that have nothing to do with what you are defending..... so in one word, this thread is a massive FAIL.

God, I wish Nancy or Bob had a .357 Magnum, when Tyrone beat them and raped Nancy. Many progressives would have disarmed them, and left them to their fate.
