I approach all conspiracy theories the same way, show me evidence, analyze the evidence, and come to a conclusion on my own. When it comes to birtherism, I could truly care less, I feel the same way about birtherism as you do about the Mayan Calendar. To me it is akin to a 4 yr old taking his shovel and leaving the sandbox. When it comes down to it, regardless of the the vote, I think alot of Americans were not ready for a black president and that's okay, some people do not like change. Now, that does not mean that I support Obama, I think he is doing the best that he can, but in the end, I do believe that he is in over his head, and yes, I felt the same way about W. Though I tend to be a little lenient on W, as 9 months into his presidency before he could really begin to implement his platform he was confronted with the worst tragedy in American history, then Katrina gets thrown in his lap. Not saying he is the brightest individual but you gotta feel for the guy his 8 years in office were filled with so much tragedy and despair. Most of us would have done what he did basically and threw our hands in the air and screamed "what the hell else can go wrong".
