Are his hands bound? Is this a single frame camera shot or was this clipped out of a video?

Near the surface of the Earth, an object in free fall in a vacuum will accelerate at approximately 9.8 m/s2, independent of its mass. With air resistance acting on an object that has been dropped, the object will eventually reach a terminal velocity, which is around 53 m/s (195 km/h or122 mph) for a human skydiver.

    https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Free_fall

In general, a person falling through the air on Earth reaches terminal velocity after about 12 seconds, which coversabout 450 meters or 1500 feet. A skydiver in the belly-to-earth position reaches a terminal velocity of about 195 km/hr (54 m/s or 121 mph).

the height of the original World Trade Center north tower, and its spire rises to the symbolic height of 1,776 feet (541 m).

Acceleration at approximately 9.8 m/s2, independent of its mass.

Snapping any picture of a high velocity moving object, although the cameras of 2001 were pretty good, requires a very professional camera man to do so.

Digital cameras were only entering into the market with likes like Canon and Fujitsu. They were one hand sized. Those small compact digital cameras began being carried around rather than 'packed' around with high focus lenses. The 'zooming' in this picture seems to be at 'max'?

If you turn the picture upside down, you can get a clearer look. And don't forget to enlarge the photo.

It almost resembles a 'straight jacket'.

    Jumped out of desperation?

Nonetheless, photographs can be seen from many different ground locations. All those persons obviously had their cameras with them that day.

Maybe lunching, picnicking, walking, shopping, etc... The arial shots come after the helicopters showed up.

Someone even snapped a picture of the plane in flight before the impact.

    Obviously from separate locations.

It might not even be the same plane. Where's the small needle building in the first in the second?

So then the small needle building must be on the other side of the view.

I'm just amazed at all the different photographs there are.

United Airlines Flight 175 was a scheduled domestic passenger flight from Logan International Airport, in Boston, Massachusetts, to Los Angeles International Airport, in Los Angeles, California.

American Airlines Flight 11 was flying American Airlines' daily scheduled morning transcontinental service from Logan International Airport, in Boston, Massachusetts, to Los Angeles International Airport, in Los Angeles, California.

Busy flight line, from Boston to L.A.

American, Delta, United, JetBlue, Alaska, Southwest and Spirit (?), all are flights out of Boston to L.A., I think daily.

Spirit Airlines, Inc. is an American ultra-low-cost carrier headquartered in Miramar, Florida. It is the eighth largest commercial airline in North America. Spirit operates scheduled flights throughout the United States and in the Caribbean, Mexico, Latin America, and South America. Wikipedia

American Airlines Flight 77 was a scheduled American Airlines domestic transcontinental passenger flight from Washington Dulles International Airport in Dulles, Virginia, to Los Angeles International Airport in Los Angeles, California.

Arlington County, Virginia is east of Dullies International Airport, in the opposite direction of L.A.

Less than 35 minutes into the flight, the hijackers stormed the cockpit. They forced the passengers, crew, and pilots to the rear of the aircraft. Hani Hanjour, one of the hijackers who was trained as a pilot, assumed control of the flight. Unknown to the hijackers, passengers aboard made telephone calls to friends and family and relayed information on the hijacking.

The hijackers crashed the aircraft into the western side of the Pentagon at 09:37 EDT.

What is it like to pilot a Boeing 757?

Just like flying a 737, 767, 777 or any other large aircraft. Each plane has their differences but planes are planes.

The 757 is very well-powered which is what I remember about it. Plenty of extra power makes for a fun jet to fly. Roomy cockpit as well. I enjoyed the 757.

The hijackers must have gotten their flying experience from somewhere outside of Iraq.

The hijackers on American Airlines Flight 77 were led by Hani Hanjour, who piloted the aircraft into the Pentagon.[1] Hanjour first came to the United States in 1990.[2]

Hanjour trained at the CRM Airline Training Center in Scottsdale, Arizona, earning his FAAcommercial pilot's certificate in April 1999.[3]He had wanted to be a commercial pilot for the Saudi national airline but was rejected when he applied to the civil aviation school in Jeddah in 1999.

    https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_Airlines_Flight_77

    • Commercial Pilot: an individual who may, with some restrictions, fly for compensation or hire

    • Airline Transport Pilot (often called ATP): an individual authorized to act as pilot for a scheduled airline. (First Officers that fly under 14CFR 121 are required to hold an Airline Transport Pilot Certificate as of August 1, 2013.)

Is a commercial pilot's certificate all that is needed to learn to operate and navigate a 757 Boeing?

Private pilot certificate: The driver’s license of the sky

Private pilots can fly a variety of aircraft and travel almost anywhere in the United States.

A private pilot certificate is like a driver's license. It allows you to fly almost anywhere in the United States and even outside the United States when you comply with regulations of the foreign country where the aircraft is operated.
