1) to pander to the slow witted members of the public who demand something BE DONE-effective or not

2) to prevent armed citizens from stopping criminals and thus manufacturing evidence to support private citizens being armed

3) to increase the chance of high body count massacres which Banoids will use to bash gun ownership

FRIENDS OF MINE WHO are neutral or slightly anti gun realized that the Banoids really were dishonest when they tried to use SANDYHOOK to push stuff like registration or background checks because the firearms in question were PURCHASED pursuant to waiting periods, registration requirements and such checks. The killer KILLED HIS OWN MOTHER to steal the guns and the laws the Banoids wanted would have done NOTHING to stop the killings. so some of these friends figured out that BANOIDS use any tragedy, whether it makes sense or not, to try to get closer to their dream of a BAN
