Not to be taken too seriously, this thread offers a place to check out Michelle Obama's latest fashion statements while she's out and about at public appearances. Since it's usually impossible to separate the serious business she's involved in -- from the tongue-in-cheek comments about her attire, let's try to stay focused more on fashion, less on politics, OK? And be nice, guys... this is a woman we're talking about and all women are beautiful. No need to be disrespectful*.

*IOW, treat her better than libs treat Sarah Palin. She's special, you know?

I think it's quite an improvement. Same with Barack.. he reportedly had a nj early on. (Oops, I mean necessary medical procedure. My bad)

I don't blame either one of 'em... if I was a 1%er, I'd consider cosmetic surgery, too. Members of the upperclass are supposed to be prettier than us working slobs and if surgery helps...

Of course, that theory doesn't always work.

The First Lady traveled to North Carolina yesterday for a "Let's Move" promotion held between games of the CIAA basketball tournament in Charlotte. Above, Mrs. O runs onto court with Senator Kay Hagan. For the appearance, Mrs. O wore a crisp white blouse, black pants and silver sneakers, with a stack of Jordan Alexander bracelets to complete the look.

Earlier in the day, when arriving at Raleigh-Durham International Airport, Mrs. O was seen wearing her Ann Taylor Promenade Coat, while greeting Military Spouse of the Year, Bianca Strzalkowski.

Like the white blouse and silver sneakers... but what's with that 'hair hook' in the second pic? Why didn't someone tell her she had a woody woodpecker thing going on?

 

OMG, the resemblance is amazing! Must be related.

 

Michelle always looks best in those really bright colors. They call that coat "salsa picante". I could never wear that color.

 

I explained that to you on the other thread, Leffe. Let's indeed be honest here... some women have big-butts. Michelle Obama is one of them. Sorry if that fact hurts your feelings, but the truth is the truth. Maybe if she didn't choose fashions that accentuate her wide rear end, it wouldn't be a subject of discussion.

What could more frightening than a Strong, Educated, Independent Women and Mother.

But I am puzzled as to why Women would have a problem with it. I can see how some Men are threatened, but Women?

That's not true ... I'm a well-rounded Brest and Azz Guy, especially if I can get my hands on them, who values Women's Minds ... especially if she's thinking of me.

Now come on Smartmouthwoman, you know Women are really conscience about their figures ... so it's interesting to see Women doing it so viciously towards other Women, let along the First Lady.

I can't see you doing that towards the Bush First Ladies ... correct?

 

That's the part I'm struggling with. Women are constantly targetted in the advertising world and media to be thin, most people (women especially I would have thought) would agree it's causing problems with dietary issues, which are life threatening. Now here's SMW, who seems to relish in the fact that another woman isn't falling for the BS on body size.

It doesn't make sense to me, and I feel that it's not a "light hearted" thing at all. This subforum is being used for partisan political purposes, not humour at all.

How much would you want your First Lady to spend on clothing for official Presidential Events representing America?

Funny you should ask... I think Michelle is too frugal when it comes to fashions. She tends to wear the same outfit to several different events. Certainly not something other first ladies are known for.

That's our FLOTUS -- she's a real penny-pincher when it comes to fashion.

Prob attributed to the fact she pays for her own clothes. If it was coming outta taxpayers pockets, I'm pretty sure she'd be more of a fashion diva.

 

Obviously you know nothing about fashion and/or women. Like I said, I understand you're opposed to us talking about the first lady. You'll just have to get over it since women all over America have always been interested in our first ladies. This one is no different... even if she is special to you.

Must be her upbringing and values. She didn't get her access to money the old fashioned way by being born into or married into money.

She's actually self made and has her own, should she chooses to.

 

Yep, as self-made as a woman can be who marries the future POTUS.

Doubt if she has 'her own' anymore though since she hasn't worked in years now. Doesn't matter... what's his is hers and vice versa.

Jackie O was famous for her hats... Laura B always dressed like the librarian she was... and Michelle O will no doubt go down in history as the FLOTUS with the boob belt. Her own personal fashion statement...
