In these discussions there is occasionally some tut-tutting about alleged conspiracy theories. Those claims are nearly always false, but every now and then there is a real conspiracy. Covering Climate Now is just that, as they explain in their own words.
    Covering Climate Now
    Paul Homewood

I have been tracking Covering Climate Now for some time now.

They were set up to influence journalism worldwide, in order to push the alarmist agenda by, basically, telling lies:

Covering Climate Now supports, convenes, and trains journalists and newsrooms to produce rigorous climate coverage that engages audiences.

Co-founded in 2019 by Columbia Journalism Review and The Nation magazine in association with the Guardian and WNYC, CCNow invites journalists everywhere to transform how our profession covers the defining story of our time. Unless news outlets around the world dramatically improve and expand their climate coverage, there simply will not be the public awareness and political will needed to tackle the crisis.

With hundreds of partner news outlets from over 60 countries reaching billions of people, CCNow helps journalists produce more informative and appealing coverage of the climate crisis and its potential solutions.

As the climate crisis accelerates and the journalism landscape rapidly evolves, we invite all journalists and newsrooms worldwide — newsletters as well as newspapers, social media as well as television, independent investigative sites as well as a reader-funded non-profits — to join the Covering Climate Now community and help your fellow journalists produce exceptional work that engages audiences, holds power to account, and inspires change.

To learn more about the establishment of CCNow, see these pieces by our co-founders, Mark Hertsgaard and Kyle Pope: “A New Beginning for Climate” and “The Media Are Complacent While the World Burns.” For media inquiries and to see news coverage about CCNow, visit our media page. The Violence of Climate Change

Climate change often manifests as violence, and violence often amplifies climate change. Recent weeks have illustrated both sides of this grim coin. Amped by super-hot sea water, Hurricanes Helene and Milton inflicted death and destruction across the southeastern US. On the other side of the world, the massive amounts of oil burned by tanks, planes, and other equipment in wars in Ukraine, the Middle East, and central Africa released yet more heat-trapping pollution.

Helping audiences understand the connections between climate change and war poses challenges for journalists. When hurricanes or missiles are killing people or demolishing houses today, describing those horrors understandably seems more urgent than explaining their underlying causes and ramifications.
    On October 7, Ukraine
bombed a major Russian oil terminal in Crimea, unleashing towering black plumes of carbon-dense smoke. Israel expanded its war from Gaza into Lebanon and reportedly pondered a strike on Iran’s vast oil fields. Sudan’s military bombed a market in Khartoum, adding 23 fatalities to a war that has killed tens of thousands. Rebel attacks continued in the Democratic Republic of Congo, where years of conflict have displaced a staggering 8 or more million people.

In May, a Covering Climate Now press briefing explained that modern war carries an immense, though often hidden, carbon footprint. Neta C. Crawford, a professor of international relations at the University of Oxford, highlighted the role of direct emissions, such as the carbon dioxide released by the Russian oil terminal bombing. Indirect emissions, such as the loss of carbon sinks when forests or wetlands are destroyed, also matter. “War causes climate change more than the other way around,” Crawford said. . . . .

    I plead guilty.......

I am conspiring to become a rather famous or even infamous proponent of an alternative theory on stabilization of the climate........

I would be honoured to get your feedback on this general idea Jack Hays.......

Is it possible to link an Alternative Theory on Stabilization of the Climate through turning deserts green as is predicted in Isaiah chapter thirty five, to an increase in Shalom in the Middle East? Can the whole thing fit with the geography of The Bay of Fundy? Could this all be linked with a plan to prevent what could be termed the plans for "Bear Market 2025 - 2035?" Yes!!!
    ....
"If average ocean levels were to rise by ten centimeters.... .would
the multiplier effect of the geography of the Bay of Fundy continue?

The fact that the Bay of Fundy funnels tidal waters plus......
it is over 170 miles long, (274 kms), it produces high tide level that are tenX to fifteenX over the difference in tidal waters where I live.

So... could high tide levels near TRuro, N. S. to Moncton, N. B. be up by a meter or more if average ocean levels were to rise by ten centimeters?
    " [Dennis Tate, March 7, 2021]

..... After I put this question out to my Facebook and online friends I got a brilliant reply on how to protect the real estate along the Bay of Fundy. This is the perfect question to put in front of engineers and students of Physics to get them thinking but...... all of this fits with the simple statement that every cubic meter of sea water that is desalinated and added to the water table of a nation with lots of desert is great news for New Orleans, The Maldive Islands, Miami and yes.... the owners of the real estate along Canada's Bay of Fundy.... [ which is relevant to many people in the State of Maine, USA].....

    (Mervyn DePendleton) :
"Hampton - Fundy - St. Martins, New Brunswick,... is this riding vulnerable to rising ocean levels?"

    http://www.politicalforum.com/index...o-rising-ocean-levels.621288/#post-1075071021

    .....

Canada's Green Party Leader Ms. Elizabeth May replied to my 2008 campaign writing with the comment.....

as best as I can remember.... "Turning deserts green is one part of a full response to climate change." [Ms. Elizabeth May]

I had sent her the following while she campaigned in Central - Nova, Nova Scotia, Canada and for the record I did vote for her......
in spite of the issues that I had with her approach.. .I felt that that one sentence had set me up to accomplish some good by getting into this issue.

My conspiracy is gaining supporters it would seem......

Is Woody Harrelson one of the most courageous and wise famous people on earth??

Which in a way proves my point........

because YOU know a lot about the topic of climate change and if even you have not heard much about this alternative theory..........

then what about the ordinary person who knows very little on any topic???

Here is my 2008 campaign writing....

The writer should look up the words “Conspiracy Theory”. The greatest scientists of the world all agree that mankind is causing Climate Change, due to increases of greenhouse gas emissions. Deniers of the science are the Conspiracy Theorists.

The morons steering the ship in California have suddenly realized the result of their energy policies but incredibly do not address the root cause.

Here we are sitting in the dark in California. First extended rain of the year - no significant wind or rate of precipitation. Power off at ~ 10am and still off at 1:30 am. The moronic inmates have again steered the boat containing us elderly and generally infirm civilians into the darkness.

You look at the following statement as a negative, and I look at it as a positive.

“We’re taking action to address rising electricity costs and save consumers money on their bills,” Newsom said. “California is proving that we can address affordability concerns as we continue our world-leading efforts to combat the climate crisis.

Although I don’t live in California, I follow their “green” initiatives closely. Newsome is correct when he states that California is a world leader. And this is by necessity. The cities in California rank WORST in air quality by most measures. This is simply due to Geographic considerations. It is also a heavily populated state. If CA conducted “business as usual” like many other states, the state would be near unliveable with pollution. That is simply fact.

California has had good leaders who understand that - both Democrat and Republican. They actively work to continually hold air pollution within guidelines, and it just so happens that the chosen initiatives are in-line with climate change remediation.

This thread is not about science. It’s about alarmist propaganda corroding science.

She seems to be afflicted with the the inability to process information and events as discussed in a great new book on the reasons behind the irrational thought processes and extreme reactivity we see today.
