If US security assistance basically maintains the lines, rather than risking any escalation then that's obviously preferable to Macron making the situation worse or Russia committing atrocities.

But we cannot be here forever, this cannot and will not be a New Afghanistan. If we give Europe this latest round of security assistance aid, it has to come with a price tag. And that price tag is a new European Security Order.

Essentially meaning that they and Russia have to come together in a room and hash out ways for them to coexist. It is simply unacceptable that the US is responsible for the defense of an entire continent.

I've always called for a new Congress of Vienna, as the threat of military force(NATO) is no longer persuasive to the Russians. Therefore diplomacy is the only option.

All sides have been hesitant to negotiate. Maybe dangling those begged for weapons will change the calculation in the West. If the pro-war crowd wants us to engage, it needs to give us something. This is what I want, in exchange for full participation.

 

Ukraine is not our fight.
We can support Ukraine, with money and arms.
We do not need boots on the ground.
And for darn sure, we need a dedicated funding source for the aid until we get the debt under control.

 

The Europeans don't want us out. We're paying the bills.

 

The one thing many on the right DON'T understand is that Ukraine is fighting OUR fight and they are the ones dying to protect US. When all this is over and Putin is out of the picture, we will owe them a huge debt.
