We're arguing around the same point at two different angles. Take my former support unit for example. It requires 180 days N.O.T before any unit movement is done. Our unit movement officer wasn't even initiating process because post orders require 180 days.
I would say that the statement of Trump which cause this answer was only a sort of "alternative truth and facts" again!
Actually, it wasn't a Democrat. It was called the "Peace Dividend", and was the project of George H.W. Bush, and Margaret Thatcher, that resulted in the BRAC program under which more than 350 installations have been closed in five BRAC rounds: 1988, 1991, 1993, 1995, and 2005. More recently Obama began to build up the military recognizing the failure of the BRAC program. Of course, you will never hear about that from Trump, or the right wing media. http://nationalinterest.org/feature/the-great-reversal-obamas-military-buildup-15151 As to who started wars: http://911billofrights.blogspot.com/2013/04/democrat-or-republican-presidents-who.html As to who supports wars: http://www.theamericanconservative.com/articles/does-the-gop-really-want-war/
Trump is already showing that he will use our military for whatever political motivation his heart desires. If it can win him a few more votes in 2020, he will engage the military.
Your blogger is way off the mark! Woodrow Wilson didn't "start" WW1 and FDR didn't "start" WW2! LBJ didn't "start" the Vietnam war either! Clinton didn't "start" the Iraq war, that was Bush/Cheney!
The Base Realignment & Base Closure BRAC was actually drafted around 1947 - 1949. Base clotures and realignments are not always a bad thing as our military commitments dictate our needs. The problem is many of the bases and places that are recommended for shut down are not done because politics gets in the way. Both parties are quite guilty. BRAC in 2005 was to voted on as a all or none. Installations that were scheduled to close had a right to go in front of the BRAC commission and bleed their case. Sequester under Obama has proven to be very costly to our military strength. Obama only started to spend more and engage more after Ash Carter came in. He was trying to save face as we were becoming the laughing stock of the world.
"Save face"? "Laughing stock of the world"? When we have more nukes then the rest of the world combined excluding Russia? When we spend more on defense then the rest of the world combined? The "sequester" was caused by both parties, primarily the GOP, not just Obama. Then too, there is a debate as to whether, or not, the country is building equipment fast enough. That being said, the Navy is building 12 ballistic missile subs; the Defense Department is in the middle of the largest aircraft procurement ever, recent;y around 30 have been built each year, increasing to 100 a year around this year. and they are acquiring 2,443 joint strike fighters over about 20 years at a cost of nearly $400 billion. The Air Force awarded a contract for long range bombers expected to be done by the 2020. And none of this has a thing to do with Trump.
Guess you hadn't heard that Jim Webb (D) Virginia has a son in the military. I'm sure there are others. The Obama's ? I didn't think so.
Nah, what Don means is that they're 'fighting like never before' because their morale is sky-high and they know he's got their backs and is giving them the best weaponry and support like they never had before from Obama.. "Under Trump, the US military will be the most feared force on the planet"- Donald Trump
Guess you hadn't heard. Obama doesn't have a son. Kind of like the Bush's. Tim Kaine (D) has a son in the service. Trump? Romney? Didn't think so.
Kind of like Trumps "Buy American, Hire American" lie. Then too, where was the support for the Veterans under Bush? And even now the Repugnant Party is trying to cut benefits to Veterans from the GI Bill. BTW, can you name a country that does not fear the American military? http://rense.com/general39/waron.htm
You seem to have slipped the Obama Administration, a period when the fan was almost inoperative. http://www.foxnews.com/us/2017/02/0...er-va-scandal-ranked-among-nations-worst.html Let's hope that the Trump appointee can do a better job.
