Hey, I agree 100 percent with you. Well said. I expect quality posts from you. I try my best to evade the flaming I see daily. Especially when they flame Trump.

 

OK, were you taught as a young soldier to use tact when communicating with the officers and NCO's appointed over you?

I agree with you 100%, but I have learned that no matter how respectful you may be of other members, some of them are just not here for a respectful discussion. They are more like graffiti vandals.

But if you hang around here for a while, with a little trial and error you can find members who really do discuss stuff. It just sorta takes time to figure out who really wants to talk and who is just here to scrawl graffiti.

That feeds unhealthy debate, in my experience. Ignoring facts is also how people fail to change their views and remain entrenched in their ideology.

Users of Cannabis do not use it to hold onto the healthy mind, they intend the mind assumes other conditions.

This I admit. I used for 4 months. I paid top dollar for the then best. It did not improve my life. I did not have fun. I attracted undesirable types to my presence. I had to get rid of cannabis to get rid of them.

I was in a terrible divorce and expected escape. But there is attached to smoking it, FEAR. Fear others learn. Fear the cops show up.

I voted here in CA to legalize it. But I don't believe it was for other than keeping away the Cops.

I can now legally waste my money on cannabis. I do not. I will not.

That pretty much says it all. Trump could shoot someone on 5th ave and his supporters wouldn't care. We've never seen that in this country before. We used to be better than that. Now we're not. And I blame the rw media for this 100%. They have destroyed the country.

 

Fellows, I tend to think of the current Army as much like it was when I served in 62-4. I was drafted. I saw a lot of various views of many things in the Army. Even over orders, there were those liking orders and those who could not stand orders.

Some of you may have got an Article 15. I was the guy typing them up. They were personal to me. In my Company in Germany, the CO was very different in his Article 15's vs when the XO took charge. When the CO went on leave, his XO took over. And he went crazy with super harsh Article 15s. I used to take his worse punishments and type them up and save the EM by filing the 15 in my file. I would collect them and hand them to the CO when he came back. The judgement of the XO was ten times too harsh. And he punished guys with 15 or more years of service very harshly. Say the EM got to post 15 minutes late and the MPs called our company. Would you guys suffer him two weeks lost pay, the loss of a stripe and hard duty?
We had the XO from hell. And officers told me they hated the guy.

Trump never will have to shoot anybody. Were he to shoot a person, I definitely would care unless he did so in self defense or it was like a hunting accident where the victim played a role so he got shot.

The effen alt left media rules the roost. I get them all for free. To see those you demean, one has to pay fees.

I watch PBS trash Trump daily. It makes me sick to see them so hostile to Trump. Viewers pick up on that and get worse and worse. Had PBS been this ugly to Obama, I am sure you guys would have had fits. And they kissed his butt.

 

That is a broad brush statement about a category of people that crosses the full spectrum.

 

If it was a pattern, then yes. If it was once or twice, no way. 1st offense gets a stern warning and maybe some push-ups. 2nd offense could get a severe smoking, or at worst a company grade article 15. 3rd offense it will be on the CO's desk.

He was so lousy, when at Battalion command level, he got assigned to some lousy duty, other officers often asked me to hand the duty to him. They did not want to put up with his BS.

If it was a pattern, the SGT that got the punishment would be well known to me. But this XO managed to lose an entire command company out in the field. I saw the Col dress him down like he was dirt. It really angered the Colonel that this XO managed to take the entire company to a location that did not follow the orders of the Col. I wish the Col had done as much to him as the XO did to the EM of the company.

 

i also wanted to say your idea sounds fair to me. An Article 15 can be constructive. It works best when it changes behavior. I recall this EM showing up late at the gate to the post 1 time. And he had like 15 years of duty. Had he been married, he qualified for off post housing. Those never report to the guard gate since they simply go home.

 

I had to earn my sgt stripes twice. I got my field grade art15 for fighting and disobeying the MPs....LOL I was infantry, it is a right of passage to get busted down at least once.
