    Video
Texas Gov. Greg Abbott on Friday announced that the Lone Star State is installing its "marine barrier installation" as part of its efforts to stop illegal immigration across the U.S.-Mexico border — a move that has brought criticism from left-wing groups.

"New marine barrier installation on the Rio Grande begins today. Texas DPS is overseeing the project in Eagle Pass. More to come," the governor tweeted.

Abbott had announced the barrier, consisting of orange buoys and intended to discourage migrants from crossing the Rio Grande, last month. It is part of Operation Lone Star, a multifaceted operation to tackle the border crisis amid what Republicans say is a vacuum of leadership from the federal government…

This Fox News report is so right on! It’s what needs to be done to that river the entire length of it that is the border between Texas and Mexico. I applaud governor Abbott for starting the first 1,000 feet of this solution.

A few gators would do the trick. Floridas got lots, maybe DeSantis could import a few

No. I don’t want anyone killed in that manner. The in the water barricades and the concertina razor wire on land in other areas is a deterrent and one the would be illegal alien enemy invaders and their innocent children can walk away from alive.

Gators rarely attack but they do keep a lot of people out of the water.

Liberals claim they don't like open borders but they sure have a problem anytime anyone puts up any sort of barrier.

Rumors of alligators in the water along with night video of animal control netting one near the water would be ok.

The environmental groups mentioned are not really making remarks about the project stopping migrants — they are upset the webbing draped under them will kill wildlife and destroy migratory patters.

I had hoped y’all had learned a lesson when fox propaganda was exposed as the frauds they were and only treating their viewers as easily manipulated idiots but I guess it’s hard to not cite things that show what one wishes to see.

I remember when Trump started building the wall how a MNNBC reporter was concerned about migratory birds not being able to fly over it.

Speaking of easily manipulated idiots.... I don't know why you're using the word "y'all" because I never watch Fox. So I'm sure you must have been talking about someone else...
But hey just keep making your assumptions

Y’all means you all. You can be both singular and plural. Was this not taught in elementary school where you went?

Taking offense to it is an admission
    Yup

I remember when people believed Trump colluded with Russia to steal the election. Or that Russia didn’t help Hillary and only Trump. Indeed, idiots are everywhere.

And I remember when Harris called Biden a racist on national TV.

if you want to go down memory lane you might not like it, especially Biden who can’t seem to remember his own racist laws and comments.

Do you have anything remotely productive to add?
    I don't watch Fox so I'm neither you nor am I y'all.

You are just agreeing with me

Again, what are you trying to prove that I didn’t already say?

I have already added productive information, this is about environmental concerns not prevention.

It’s odd you are demanding “productive” discussion with me after I have provided it but don’t hold the same standards to everyone saying don’t talk bad about the red hats

How do you feel you have been productive in this thread? Do you agree with the environment aspect of this or think nets draped will benefit the local animal species?

The main issue with this is that it violates a treaty between Mexico and the US in which the Federal Government and the Mexican government must both approve for any significant improvements on the Rio Grande. Biden Administration has voiced its concerns, but the Mexican government is silent for now. However, this will only change where the flow is from the Mexican border, and that is all it will do.

    Changing the flow is useful.

The US border should be defended by our military as required by Article 4 of the US Constituion. If not, why have a military? We need troops on the border with loaded weapons.

But it violates the treaty if it occurs between El Paso and Bronsville. And changing the river flow is not useful at all. It can have unforeseen consequences down river or in that vicinity where local plant and animal life cohabitate.

Yes dude because calling people 'idiots' is very productive.

Instead of taking your bait in the future I should just report you for such. After all you people have no problem reporting me.
