ABC cancels 'Roseanne' following Roseanne Barr's racially-charged tweet

    Update: Channing Dungey, president of ABC Entertainment, issued a statement Tuesday saying the show has been canceled in response to Roseanne Barr's tweets.

    "Roseanne's Twitter statement is abhorrent, repugnant and inconsistent with our values, and we have decided to cancel her show," the statement read.

    "muslim brotherhood & planet of the apes had a baby=vj,” Barr wrote, using Jarrett's initials.

    Jarrett, 61, is African American and worked for Obama from 2009 to 2017.

    Wow... Actions having consequences.... go figure... salute to ABC, although this will not impact MY fall TV watching, since I didn't watch this dreck anyway (then or now).

    Lesson - Don't Butt Tweet in the wee hours of the morning... (I.E. Don't be a Butt and Tweet)... I wonder if other Right of Center Tweeters will re-think their AM (or PM) tweeting habits??

    I don't watch such shows, stopped totally after "now and again." This is the problem with shows named after a character, character could have been killed off and not hurt the other cast members.

    i get intoxicated and tweet things that would get me in trouble multiple times a week, but at least my twitter account isn't linked to my real identity

    I was wondering how that show was gonna make it, given Barr believed in some of what trump campaigned on, and Barr is an older kind of liberal. The liberals that stood up for working americans. ha ha

    She must have really pissed on modern liberals? Hillary democrats? Generally comedians can get away with what she tweeted, but then, comedians no longer play colleges anymore as Jon Stewart and others have noted. The snowflakes go ballistic and have no sense of humor.

    I don't get gist of her Tweet, can someone who associates Muslims and apes with Jarrett explain this to me, because I don't make those associations, but apparently libs do and make the connection

    Of course not.... But it's NO SECRET that Roseanne vocally supports Trump and Trump has vocally supported Roseanne... This isn't a generic behind-the-scenes Trump supporter.

    Can you seriously not envision that Trump could come dangerously close to putting something like this out on his own Twitter?? He toes the line with the majority of his tweets...
