I just saw this on Youtube, and it was so over the top that I couldn't make it past the first 8 minutes without chuckling. I can't believe that there are people out there who still think like this - is this the 14th century? C'mon This isn't a diss on religion as a whole of course - however some of the more extreme religious individuals are so out there it is good for a laugh. There are some funny ones about metal music, one video said that musicians are possessed by demons because they can play with their eyes closed. They used Whitechapel as the example, and cited the song "Possession". LOL Maybe they cannot imagine someone playing with their eyes closed because Christian rock sucks so much?
I only watched the first 5-8 minutes, and got the jist of it - no way I'm sitting through an hour and a half of that
Awesome. I must be possessed then, too. I find it much more impressive to pee with your eyes closed. Real mess every time I've tried it.
LOL…It's been so long since I've heard those back masking TAPES! Awesome! Start to smoke marijuana! Pause it on his face when he says that. It's so funny.
The biographers of many popular musicians, (Kurt Cobain and John Lennon and Led Zeppelin) admit that those singers sold their souls for fame and fortune. This isn't conspiracy theory nonsense that people post online-the biographers of these singers admit it. Even Pink Floyd has blasphemous anti-Christian lyrics in their song "sheep". In his song, "most high", Jimmy Page says, "david's seed talks through his paper crown". With so much anti-Christian content in today's popular music, how can you deny the existence of God? No singer blasphemes Buddha or the hindu gods. They only criticize Jesus.
Here's a list of singers that have blasphemed Jesus/The Bible. John Lennon Kurt Cobain Robert Plant (on the song-battle of evermore, and also the song "most high".) Marilyn Manson Pink Floyd Ozzy Osbourne King Diamond Kanye West Jay Z Lady Gaga Metallica The Rolling Stones Danzig (and many others.) Name some singers who have blasphemed other gods.
lol A few of those are critical of Islam as well, so why pretend to be a victim? You ought to add Tool, Otep, In This Moment, Whitechapel, Upon a Burning Body, Chelsea Grin, Mudvayne, Lamb of God, Slipknot to the anti-religion bunch as well.
All of those bands are from countries that were or are primarily Christian. Of course they "blasphemed" the dominant religion of their time. But to answer your question, there has been numerous songs, books, movies and writings that are blasphemous towards Allah. Many more are blasphemous towards the beliefs held by scientologists and other cults.
Just one problem, Led Zeppelin wasn't a singer nor a musician, it was the name of a band comprised of 4 people. And yes, it is nothing more than conspiracy theory. What exactly are the "blasphemous anti-Christian lyrics" in Pink Floyd's Sheep? Besides your imagination and aberrant opinion how exactly are the lyrics from Most High anti-Christian? Frankly, your imagination is your problem.
I would also like to understand why musicians poking fun at the most predominate religion in the US (while a minority religion in the world, whoops!) somehow validates the existence of a imaginary character? If someone is critical of Islam, does that mean that Islam is validated? If someone is critical of the LDS, does that mean that Mormonism is validated? If someone is critical of Scientology, does that mean Scientology is validated? Lots and lots of very poor argument to be read here.
That Beatles video is a (*)(*)(*)(*)ing travesty. Only religion can take the journey of understanding what it means to be human, accepting it for what it is and trying to live through love and consider it evil.
You criticize what you know. Most "western" popular musicians don't have much contact with hinduism or buddhism. Also, take this advice from a guy who writes songs himself: Never take any lyrics seriously. Many of the most over-analyzed lines in rock history were nothing but fillers.
