The 4-week moving average was 360,000, an increase of 250 from the previous week's revised average of 359,750. The advance seasonally adjusted insured unemployment rate was 2.5 percent for the week ending December 22, unchanged from the prior week's unrevised rate. The advance number for seasonally adjusted insured unemployment during the week ending December 22 was 3,245,000, an increase of 44,000 from the preceding week's revised level of 3,201,000. The 4-week moving average was 3,224,250, an increase of 6,500 from the preceding week's revised average of 3,217,750. UNADJUSTED DATA The advance number of actual initial claims under state programs, unadjusted, totaled 495,588 in the week ending December 29, an increase of 40,459 from the previous week. There were 540,057 initial claims in the comparable week in 2011. The advance unadjusted insured unemployment rate was 2.6 percent during the week ending December 22, a increase of 0.1 percentage point from the prior week's unrevised rate. The advance unadjusted number for persons claiming UI benefits in state programs totaled 3,293,218, an increase of 43,722 from the preceding week. It's amazing how they always publish the underestimated numbers, but we never hear about the revisions in the media. What a transparent administration!
Well they can only hide these horrible numbers for so long. We all know that the unemployment rate is not going to get better under democratic control. They are fighting a losing battle and will eventually have to admit how bad it is and try and spin it onto the republicans, which of course, the media and general public will believe.
republicans really like to harm the country with cliff uncertainty and the ceiling uncertainty and then the fact that they attack all good news and cheer on all bad news as if the world were coming to a end .
