Not that this should actually constitute news to anyone who pays attention, but Obama continues to spit in the faces of all you people who bought into his "transparency" tripe.

Administration sets record for withholding government files

In fact, the White House web site continues the farcical charade of Obama having the most open and transparent administration in history:

    https://www.whitehouse.gov/the_press_office/transparencyandopengovernment/

Needless to say, I have yet to hear much disapproval from the group of individuals so critical of the previous administration for doing everything "behind closed doors". It is as though they all cast aside their core values the moment their guy started doing exactly the opposite of what they told us he would do back when he was running for office. In fact, as referenced earlier, he is doing the exact opposite of what he is still claiming he is doing.

I've been wondering if Obama's recent closing of a White House emails office to FOIA requests has to do with the IRS emails found or Hillary's debacle. It's poorly timed either way and I'd hope that the Republican candidate offers to roll that move back.

Wait, there were people that actually bought that load of malarkey about transparency? Even more surprising, there are people still complaining about it SIX ******ned years later?

    dafuq?

People act like Obama lying about a campaign promise is the first time in US history that a POLITICIAN lied about anything! Like Obama invented lying or something and it has torn a hole through people's souls, forever scarring them to never trust again.

Little tip, if a politician breaking a campaign promise is such a horror to you, give up discussing politics, just delete the bookmark to this site, stop watching news networks, cause politics isn't for you. If this sort of thing astounds and aggravates you, I am sorry to say you might just be too immature to discuss politics.

Yes, we call out politicians for lying to us all the time, media being the 4th branch of government after all, but we don't act all surprised about it. It's just a flash in the pan revelation.

Reading threads like this make me imagine the person posting it as a pre-teen crying into his pillow because he just realized how completely awful his garage boy band sounds.

When Obama made that promise during the 2008 election, I had a chuckle and moved on, knowing full well there was no way in hell that he was ever going to live up to that one.

The liberals on this very forum skewered his predecessor for "lying to the American people". Challenging Obama's lies was met with accusations of racism from that very group of people over and over on this very forum. I know that, as I was one of the people being called a racist by those very dim-witted Obama supporters. I certainly haven't seen much skewering from that same group since it is clear that Obama has been "lying to the American people". My pointing out their gullibility and challenging them to explain it equates to crying into a pillow? Grow up you little boy.

Amen to you sir, great response and 100% accurate. Still today after 6 years of failures and lies, any opposition is concidered a race attack.

No, disagreeing with Obama's policies, or telling it like it is and saying Obama lied about something has nothing to do with race. It's one of the rare times that I'll actually side with conservatives on something.

But it's not shocking. Sure, I'm new here to this forum, but not new to politics. Hell, I laughed when Bush the Sr. famously lied "read my lips, no new taxes" I along with most of Russia nearly crapped themselves when Reagan open mic'd "I've just signed legislation, outlawing Russia forever, we begin bombing in 5 minutes".

So basically your taking petty revenge and dishing out an I told you so to people on a message board? Is that what the free exchange of ideas boils down to? Holding up an example of a stereotype of every politician ever as something to be amazed at, like some sort of moral victory? Do you know when the last shred of faith in the presidency died in this country? When we as a nation overwhelmingly voted in a *******ned Hollywood actor into the white house. And some people are still amazed by his performance to this day. This nation literally voted in a paid liar into the oval office, and he was so damn good, he convinced us all that he couldn't recall, or can't remember details about shipping arms through Israel to Iran.

You know, Iran? That place that republicans are masturbating themselves into a frenzy trying to go to war with today?

So no, Obama breaking a campaign promise is nothing noteworthy, if you find anyone who actually believed that crap, just know they probably don't have the political acumen to actually talk about the problems in the world.

If he did - it's all for show. Sooner or later, those will be subpoenaed and he knows he'll have to hand them over. There is no love lost between Obama and the Hilldebeast. He's just making it look like he's protecting his party. He can't stand her. Obama is a petty dictator and a tyrant. I expect to see even more bizarre things from him in the remainder of his term. He's just getting started.

There are millions of documents classified each year. But men in power don't want the public to know of their dirty dealings. Obama is probably as bad as those that came before him.

You do not have a democratic republic with the number of classified information we see, year in and year out. You have nothing more than a tyranny.

Secrecy is the beginning of tyranny. Transparency defines a democratic republic. Only a very few things actually needs to be classified. That we have so many, is certain proof of what we live under. And the American people, being the sheep that they are, being the idiots that they are, really don't give a (*)(*)(*)(*). So, we got the exact gov't that we indeed deserve. So, it is the fault of the American people, for you have allowed this con job to continue, year after year.
