The August 6 helicopter crash that killed 37 elite special forces troops in Afghanistan has a bad odor about it. It just doesn't seem legit. I think a Congressional investigation is needed, and the sooner the better.

A lot of people have been asking some very logical questions. Like why was a mission set up whereby such a large, slow moving (and therefore easy target) helicopter wold be entering a hot, battle zone ? Wouldn't it be smarter to have about a dozen much smaller, faster-moving helicopters transporting these troops ? And isn't it possible that someone in the planning of this mission could have been a Taliban sympathizer and tipped off the Taliban to the time and location of the mission ?

That a rhetorical question. I'll give the answer. Yes, it's quite possible, and in fact, this type of thing has happened quite often in the FBI, when raids are set up, and when the agents arrive, the suspects are either gone or their contraband is gone, shredded, or well concealed, whereby an obvious tip-off occured prior to the raid.

The FBI and the Pentagon are filled with Arabic-speaking Muslims (Arabic speaking Americans are hard to find), and many of these are disloyal to the USA. Some have been arrested on terrorism charges over the past 10 years, but many have not and continue to tip off jihadists with top secret information. There has been a disturbing undercurrent of political correctness toward Muslims that says "hands off" when it comes to Muslim wrongdoing. Like when Major Stephen Coughlin was fired from his job when he challenged the Muslim Brotherhood group ISNA (Islamic Society of North America) as being the subversive militants that they are. A Muslim aide to the Deputy Sect. of Defense Gordon England (who was chummy with ISNA), complained about Coughlin's truthful assertions as "hate speech". It was only after a torrent of outrage was raised, that Coughlin (the Pentagon's only real expert on Islamic law) was hired back, but then to a different position.

Partly because of the lack of Arabic-speaking Americans, and partly due to political correctness idiocy, the vetting process of Muslims in the Pentagon has been slight. Frankly, I think it would be better if no Muslims were hired into security clearance position at all, due to the security risk that this poses.
One should realize that a true Muslim really is never a national of any country, or at least his country is subordinate in loyalty/kinship/connection to the Ummah (worldwide community of Muslims). For instance, a Canadian Muslim feels more connection to an Albanian Muslim than he does to a non-Muslim Canadian. A Muslim in the Pentagon, in strategic planning, could easily be more loyal to, have more connection to the Taliban, than to any American.

A military investigation is already underway of this incident. That's not good enough. What is needed is an outside investigation, by non-partisan, objective researchers (the Congress), not the military investigating itself (fox guarding henhouse), and telling us they did no wrong. It's critical that the outside investigation be done and soon, because if the strategic planning of war missions is infected by Taliban-sympathizer moles, it could result in more disasters like the one on August 6. For that matter, one can ponder if Muslim moles in military planning haven't caused the deaths of hundreds or thousands of US troops over the past 8 years. Can anyone answer that with supporting evidence outside of military reports ? (of them "investigating" themselves).
