Age and Obesity two major factors in Covid 19 deaths.

The vast majority of those dying from Covid 19 virus are either over age 65 or obese. Many others have breathing issues due to smoking or vaping.This terrible health scourge, all over the world, can serve as a warning to people to stop smoking and vaping and to improve their diets and get in better physical shape.

Has anyone see a breakdown of age/sex/ethnicity etc? I thought originally that small children and infants were greatly at risk.

 

Ironically, keeping people pent up in their homes will end up causing far more deaths via inactivity, vitamin deficiencies, indoor pollutants and toxins like mold, stress, alcoholism, drug use, domestic violence, etc., than this Moral Panic will have EVER caused of its own. Of course those factors, every bit as real as Corona (who we kidding... far MORE real than Corona), have less chance of enriching and empowering the gov-edu-union-contractor-grantee-trial lawyer-MSM Complex or defeating ORANGEMANBAD, so we won't be hearing much about them.

 

Unfortunately, obesity is at record levels. Most of what is making Americans fat is subsidized. Obesity is curable, but is treated with subsidized meds instead.

 

You won't get any argument from me there. As another added bonus, this may also be a wakeup call to people in terms of general hygiene and cleanliness, and people have actually maybe learned the importance of simple things like washing their damn hands.

Subsidized, meaning food stamps? BUNK. Food stamps DONT make you fat. Poor eating habits and binge eating do.

 

Quite the opposite, GIRLS in particular, aren't washing their hair, or showering NEAR as much. In fact, one of the things that will likely come out of this is, Girls will not use as much makeup. They wont pretty up every time they leave the house, like they used to. That is a theory anyway, based upon folks saying they are acting like I said.

What I've seen, it appears to be the same physically compromised folks, as the flu kills every year, to the tune of 20,000 to 60,000,........

 

Food stamps/EBT is a factor, but even if you are spending your own money, unhealthy food is cheap and even addictive. Most of what we eat is a product of subsidized corn. 1/3 of Americans are diabetic or pre-diabetic. The problem is that you and I pay for their bad habits.

 

Yes, tooo much corn, and processed foods. Not enough rice, beans, etc. We ARE starting to learn to cook, as a hobby though.

 

Actually, food stamps seem to pay for lobster, steak, and generally better food than I eat.

 

On Fox NEws maybe, In real life, millennials are using their 1200 bucks, for housing costs. Food stamp folks, are feeding their kids, NOT lobster, but foods, perhaps not as nutritious and such as they could, kids being what they are.

 

I saw the EBT lobster video. Unfortunately, 10% of food stamps/EBT/SNAP benefits are spent on sweetened beverages. Many fast food brands accept EBT. Even fat people are malnourished and will develop conditions.

Once symptoms show, they are treated with subsidized pharm products to mask symptoms so that they may continue their bad habits.

 

You're starting to sound like you're acquiring a slight lean to the right..... If the words "personal responsibility" come out of your mouth, I may fall out of my chair. But, kidding aside, common ground is good

When my wife was on it. she was able to buy Lamb, Steak, soda. All from Costco. Then I realized that someone is paying for that and we can't do that. So we stopped doing that.

There's always a silver lining if you'll look for it. I know this situation has opened my eyes in a lot of ways, given me a lot to think about where the future is concerned.

 

I don't know about what people may or may not buy with their food stamps but from what I saw today on TV, the food bank lines being conducted by at least one Philly charity are passing out cardboard boxes filled with fresh vegetables to lines of hundreds of people.

 

Yes, food pantries are keeping farmers from throwing away food. They are thinking of pulling up milk trucks to the food lines, and opening the spigot. The bottom dropped out on asparagus. And broccoli. I am getting some really good things from the food pantry. Glad there are folks ready to volunteer to work there.

 

Yes the volunteers are truly doing God's work!!

 

Trust me, men aren't walking around looking like prizes either...the way some men have let their beards and hair grow they look like Tom Hanks in Castaway all they're missing is a volleyball named Wilson. Not disagreeing with you as I have heard similar, but men are letting themselves go as well. I have heard men talk about the increase in their beer consumption (getting that dead sexy beer gut), not showering, not shaving, eating more ...people in general have just slacked off during quarantine...

As far as women not wearing makeup as much, actually better for the skin technically speaking. Also, makeup isn't cheap why would women wear it if they aren't doing anything and unemployed at this time? That's saving money and pores!

 

I'm clean shaven for the first time in years so that I can get a proper fit on a mask. It freaked my boys out since they've always seen me with a beard... almost wizard length a couple times.
