Just saw what the exit polls said on CNN.
80 % Evangelical for one and 70 % for the other with over 40 % saying religion was a determining factor for their vote.

If any body with a reasonable thinking process thinks these 2 states should determine the out come based upon that ideology..good luck.

I mean look at who REALLY OPPOSES Romney..
You got to be kidding me..
Newt and Santorum will never be president of anything. This Southern midwest Bible vote has got to end ..soon.

If Romney gets anywhere near 30 % it would be a great night for him..

I hope for a Religious split with Romney a close 2nd place.
If Angels were running the ultra conservatives would FIGHT over who was MOST RIGHT.

    2 hours to go..

i'd like to think that two of the most backward states in the country would only serve as examples of what not to do in most cases

Update at 8:01 p.m. ET. Exit Polls:

Here are the first numbers from CNN's exit polls:

    Alabama:

    — Santorum: 34 percent

    — Romney: 29 percent

    — Gingrich: 28 percent

    And Mississippi:

    — Romney: 35 percent

    — Gingrich: 30 percent

    — Santorum: 29 percent.

Here's how Dean Debnam, president of PPP, framed tonight's primaries:

"About all we know for sure about Tuesday's primaries is that Ron Paul will finish last in them. Beyond that it's plausible that any of the candidates could finish between first and third in both Alabama and Mississippi."

A Santorum sweep... and another PUKE NIGHT for the Republican party as a whole.

The sweater vest..the Everyday Prayer that everyone gives him..a shout out to baby Bella home watching...

The every day guy doing extraordinary things ..

If you believe that you truly are sheep.

The win was overwhelming done by EVANGELICALS voting against the Mormon.

NOW the argument needs to be made if we are to debate correctly..WHY was voter turnout so low for Santorum in both of his wins ?

Where is the enthusiasm for his campaign ?

Take away the Evangelical vote and he will sink faster than the Titanic.

I cannot figure exit polls saying Romney will win by over 50 % against Obama then they dont vote for Romney ?
Either they are stupid and haven't figured out that Santorum cannot win..or just want Obama to win again.

The Mississippi exit polls were the 1st ones all year CNN got wrong.

How can Romney win the city vote by 4 pts..Lose the rural vote by 2 pts and get the women by 8 pts..?
Exit polls showed he won by 5 and yet he lost by that number ?
    Strange math down south indeed.
But 52 % believe Obama is a Muslim..so maybe NOT winning that area is a good thing.
Hope for the other 2 areas to go to Romney for a little SOUTHERN COMFORT ..not in a bottle.

And can somebody please challenge Rick on his claim Romney left MASS with a billion dollar debt..a true religious person wouldn't need to lie about every Everything.

Now that the south is done..so is newt.. he failed team Romney and so his super pac money will now end.

Thanks Fox for last nights super FREE Santorum televised prep rally.
Way to influence an election.

Plus, if Gingrich does drop out at some point, you're going to see the conservative vote consolidated and this race turned on it's head.

If the combined totals of Gringrich and Santorum beat Romney's do you think this could lead to Santorum getting the nomination?

by winning elections, i think there are 28 more state primaries to go

how's any one of the other candidates going to catch up to mitt?

newt needs over a 1000 delegates and santorum more than 900

Simple ..now that we get away from the evangelical area of the country...
The N.E/ west..and a few winner take all...
The so called base that Romney isn't winning isn't any political base but a religious one..he can say nothing ..do nothing about it..
I say simply let them go..save money and go after neutral states..

The Evangelicals will need to make up their mind..Vote Romney or lose.
That's why they pull out all the stops now.

Louisiana is the last big southern bible belt state.

Do the mathS?! I'm saying convention time things could be a lot different (assuming the conservative vote consolidates if Gingrich drops out). And if he goes all the way to Tampa - well there is a chance that if Romney doesn't get that majority that their combined totals could beat him. Nothing is sure in this race.

There is now internal polling saying enough Democrats voted in both these states tonight to stop any Romney momentum..
I wont reveal my sources yet..:blowkiss:

That how the M. exit poll got so screwed up a 35% vote total for Romney dispersed instantly.

Democrats just helped Santorum out.. AGAIN..

    Open elections..

If Rick wins in both Pennsylvania and Wisconsin (according to polls he will) it gives him a 114 delegate boost in two winner takes all primaries, only around 100 short of Romney... :)
