It feels rushed even though it was in the making for 6 years. The AI is the dumbest thing I have seen in years. The Aliens sometimes forget to fight you and when they do it doesn't matter because they're slow and just come right at you. NPC human players get in your way, forget to shoot (which doesn't matter since the aliens pretty much only come after you) and forget to follow you resulting in your needing to constantly go back for them, or they'll rush way ahead of you.
Okay now THAT was a good review....but sad. I loved the original "AvP" (with the three ways to play). Too bad.
I agree its quite disappointing, as a life long Aliens fan it really did not do the movie any justice. The only think they seem have gotten right was the pulse rifle sound effects. There is a comparison video of the demo aired a year ago vs the final product. The demo looked way better compared to what we got. Its 2004 graphics, generic story, generic gameplay and very short. I was so excited for this since it was picked up in 2008. This game was originally announced in 2002 for the PS2 but was canceled. Gearbox is a terrible developer and I will never again buy a game made by them.
Have you played Borderlands 2? It's Gearbox and it's awesome. Apparently A:CM was farmed out to multiple developers who all worked on different parts of the game. I hated the first Borderlands, thought it was boring as (*)(*)(*)(*). Gearbox will never get another dime from me! - - - Updated - - - The E3 demo got me so hyped for the game! I love everything Aliens and revere the movie Aliens as my top 5 favorite ever! This game is an abomination to a great franchise. Down with Gearbox!
