Liberal educators will have to attempt something, either provide armed protection, turn their schools into high security areas or just maintain the status quo but we will likely see nothing until the beginning of the next school year.

Do you think he would have done it if he knew for sure he would not be able to more than one shot off?

That go to argument doesn't hold water....at all. The school did have officers there. 2 I believe. Banks have armed guards.

The answer to both questions is....yes they would. Why? The thought of "soft targets" isn't in their minds.

Banks are not robbed as often as mass killings are done because of security. Having officers in the school is not much of a deterrent if they are in uniform. Schools need to use the same approach as airlines do with air marshals where only a set few know he is aboard.
The thought of killing as many people as possible was in his mind so if he knew he wouldn't be able to he would not attempt it.

Sorry, not true. There are a LOT more bank robberies than mass shootings. 5000 in 2017. Obviously they don't get away with them but they keep trying but the point is your logic is odd. You say there aren't many banks robbed because of security (guards and cameras) yet having cameras and guards in a school are not much of a deterrent. How does that fit? Are you going to take the next step and say that bank tellers should be armed like teachers? Do you wonder why that isn't done?

Liberal educators will roll the dice and hope the next teenager who flips out will kill children in someone elses school not theirs

Yeah that hasn't worked out so well, has it? Parkland shooter had MAJOR disciplinary problems. But somebody with a political agenda decided to look the other way. And a waiting period has no bearing on whether you will pass a 4473.

All you need to do is find a guy like Nightscope. And he is everywhere. The video made it quite clear that business is booming. So, actually it is THAT easy. Probably easier for a 17-year-old kid to buy an illegal gun than a six pack of beer. Hell, just go to MacArthur Park in Los Angeles. Pick up a phony Social Security card while you're there too.

I will graciously accept your concession that gun laws have virtually no correlation to violent crime.

Aw, come on! You don't want to take a guess? Fine. I'll answer: I obey the law. Why? I've got something to lose if I don't. Suicidal school shooters and worthless gang banger thugs don't. They have no incentive to obey the law. And if they are already willing to ignore the law regarding murder, what makes you think they're going to worry about a silly little thing like a background check or an ammunition magazine restriction?

All the gun laws you love so dearly accomplish is disarming decent law-abiding responsible adults such as myself who pose no threat to you or anyone. You are not making anyone any safer by doing this.

For some reason we are a uniquely violent society. I agree with you there. But to suggest guns make us that way is folly at best. Without the guns we'd still be killing each other.

I already stated that there were two divergent paths - perhaps you missed that. Maybe re-read my post to gain clarity. But what remains is that none of the murder -- whether street-level thug or privileged suburban white incel -- happens without intent.

Glad you had a great childhood. Mine was about as idyllic as one could hope for as well, but the point was teenage boys have a both lot of aggression and a new-found sexual energy that they typically don't know exactly how to manage. This is due to hormones and biology.

Explain why it would not work.

Then what is being stated by yourself, is that it is preferable if the violent, aggressive students with no apparent respect for authority, are left in the classes with fellow students and educators alike, where they are able to strike at any time if they so choose?

And it still took them ten minutes to respond to reports of the shooting.

Then why do the majority of mass shootings take place in locations where firearms are prohibited by law, and often state such by signs at the entrances to exits to let visitors know such? Is it being stated by yourself that such is nothing more than a matter of pure coincidence?

Where have law enforcement officers "taken care of" people speaking Spanish or football players taking a knee?

That isn't done because everyone would know it and serious robbers would just go in and kill them all first then take the money. The idea is to make it to where the perpetrator wouldn't know who if any are armed in the schools. Same principle as air marshals in planes.

Really? I have to explain why this is a bad idea?
No....I said that shooting students is a bad idea. Really, really bad. In fact, I think it's the worst idea I've ever heard.

    Yes, yes it did.
    They were on a break.
I'm stating that whatever was in the mind of the shooters that motivated them to do what they did the fact that the location and it's happening to be gun free or not was not a factor in the thought process.

Do you really think teachers would flip out and shoot unruly kids if they could?

Your question has nothing to do with the subject.

If the bank robbers kill the tellers first, wouldn't the bank guard then shoot the robbers?

Hey Mac......did you read the other post that X thought it was a good idea?
To answer your question. Yes, I think it would happen. Just a matter of odds.

There is a better chance the kids would shoot a teacher if they have a gun

Which is why we need metal detectors and armed guards - or teachers with guns - at every entrance

Teachers teach. Hire security if you think that's an answer.
