…One Man-of-the-Year voter said, “DeSantis is no-nonsense. He is a doer. He has been on offense every single day taking actions to push back and make substantive changes to move Florida back towards the ideals this country was founded on. Easy No. 1 choice.”

Another voter said he “chose DeSantis because he has all around been a great representative of conservatism on many fronts.”
Other AMAC members who participated in the voting said they liked the way he handles issues such as the bill he supported that targets the teaching of Critical Race Theory in Florida’s public K-12 schools and CRT instruction in the workplace…

So you agree that trump is not the man of the year. That de Santis is better.
    That makes you very disloyal.

He certainly does trigger the trolls.

And he is a man of action. He was in our city after hurricane Ian for a news conference. Some of the residents out in the county were cut off by flooding and the only way in and out was by airboat. He was told that they were having difficulties getting gas to run their generators.

My boss was told by the oil company that owns the building where I work that the governor himself called them up and said you make sure those people have gas. We went from spotty gas deliveries to zero problems. This was in the days immediately following the aftermath of the storm.

After the Storm President Biden said he was going to do everything he could to free up federal resources and for the first time I was actually somewhat proud of him.

Now here it is well after a hundred days past the storm and the FEMA trailers still sit out in the county just sitting there vacant.

If our governor had authority over FEMA I bet you that would not be the case.

I had no idea either but looked them up. Apparently it is the Association of Mature American Citizens.

What is strange is the article the op linked has "Advertisement" stamped right in the middle. It makes me think this is not journalism but a paid ad probably from AMAC. If that is true it is kind of sad because they are paying for ad space to make it appear like it was news worthy enough to be in the Lassen County Times (which already seems like a pretty low bar).

    According to wiki:

Here is their website if people wish to join. Then you too can have the privilege of voting for next years man of the year.

    https://amac.us/join/?campaign=Google+Ad+Search+Branded+TheConservativeAlternative&utm_source=google&utm_agid=28476769004&utm_term=association of mature american citizens&creative=611475378227&device=c&placement=&gclid=Cj0KCQiA2-2eBhClARIsAGLQ2Rns-fyeBMkOpf5p7fBDVfw531MzCkqlEOYECur0mwmruOQ9pJAmyJoaAoFGEALw_wcB

This whole story or ad seems really sad. If I was DeSantis I would totally ignore it. I wonder if they made a little trophy or plaque and mailed it to his office because I doubt he would go accept it in person.

Actually now that I think about it, AMAC is probably pro Trump and giving Trump ammunition to mock DeSantis at his rallies. I can see Trump saying something like "DeSantimonious was just awarded Man of the Year by AMAC. Have you heard of AMAC? I am really happy for his little award." Then Trump can take out his Time Magazine Man of the Year Award and smile...:D

I'll just go ahead and remind all of you that hate our great governor of who Florida progressives almost elected.

A man later found passed out in a pool of his own vomit in a motel room with methamphetamine and a male prostitute.

That's who progressives would have been the governor

That's going to make Trump mad. Because nobody in the whole wide world is more deserving of awards as Trump, ever.

Watch for another low blow towards DeSanctimonious coming on Twitter -- or one of the coming low-energy campaign rallies. The fireworks will be awesome to watch.

Now, so far, DeSantis has been smart to be silent about 2024. How long can he resist to respond to Trump's taunts?

While I can't argue on the credibility or integrity of AMAC, the advertisement label you saw is normal on websites that include ads on their pages including legitimate media sites.

Well, if DeSantimonious is serious about running, he's going to have to jump into the gutter with both feet and drown Mr. Failed Seditious Conspiracy with both hands. Personally, DeSantimonious, IMO, is a greater threat to the democratic republic.

De Santis had real and major accomplishments as a current office holder. With candidates declaring for President this year 2023 will be a different kind of year.

Yeah, "main competition" is giving them a little more credit than they deserve.

Membership for AMAC is 1.1 million vs. AARP membership of 38 million

    More like insignificant pest.
